The Reserve at Orange Lake Resort
About
There are two 18-hole championship courses and two nine-hole courses at Orange Lake Resort & Country Club. The Reserve is the newer of the championship golf courses although technically it could be considered the older of the two. Originally designed in 1982 by Joe Lee, 16 years before the Arnold Palmer-designed Legends was added, the course was completely redesigned in 2005. New water features and more sand were added and seven holes were rerouted and redesigned. One hole that was made more challenging was the fifth hole. A long par 4 was transformed into a long par 3 that plays to almost 215 yards. In addition to the four golf courses, Orange Lake also boasts a lighted driving range and putting green as well as two chipping greens, one which features a sand bunker.

sGotta hit em straight
this course is well maintained, but it is to challenging for someonewho does not hit the ball straight.I ended up playing most of the course with my 5 iron just to keep it in play. If you can hit it straight, you should score well. No real pro shop here. Check in is at the resort's convenience store. Don't expect a luxury experience-just golf on a decent course without spending the $100 they want at other courses. I played in the afternoon, and the course was empty. Played another round at 5 pm, and finished in about 2 hours. My kind of pace. But if you can't hit straight, stay away from this course.
Reserve course
I booked my round via golfnow.com, I attended as a single player, I was matched up with 3 American guys, who welcomed me with open arms. The staff, the buggy, the course was fantastic ! I couldn't fault this day at all, definitely a memory I will never forget !
Thankyou to all the golf staff in the resort and especially to the two girls driving round the course on the snack cart !
?????
Played while on vacation at the resort. Great price for the round.
Overall course
I booked a late tee off time because the course would not be busy and I would be able to scoot around quickly. The guy in the marketplace was nice but he did not tell me the course closed at 7:30. He sent me out on the back nine because they were doing some stuff on the front nine but when I got to the front nine ... All if the flags were removed. One of the starters caught up with me on the 7th hole and said the course was closed and that is why the flags were removed. Not cool!!
Ranger needed
resort course - draws many casual golfers -
a Ranger would improve pace -
Playing the reserve
This was an overall decent course. Greens were nicely kept. Fairways were decent. Some holes not as pretty as others but there were a few "lush" holes. Challenging but enjoyable course.
Great course!
Friendly, great pace, super greens, great price, recommend highly
The Reserve, May 1, 2014
We found the course staff to be friendly, helpful and kind. We got stalled in traffic, then got lost, so we were a few minutes late. It all worked out well with the course management. The course conditions were great, greens perfect. I will return again and again... it was an excellent choice.
Good course while vacationing in Orlando
Challenging course. A lot of water, mangroves, and some narrow alleys. If you have any slicing issues, bring extra balls!
Good value for the money
The greens were not in top notch shape. The pace of play was a little slow, but I was on vacation and the weather was beautiful, so it really didn't matter. I preferred the Legends course because it was in better shape and a little more open.
good day of golf
Nice course. Beautiful fairways and greens. The staff was very nice.
Good value, nice greens
Was extremely foggy the first 4 holes. Course damp and greens had been topdressed not long ago so ball picking up all the sand on the way to the pin. However once the greens dried out, it putted true and pretty fast. Very good value for money. Pace was good. Will play again especially for the fee on golfnow
Good course
Nice course overall. Like it a lot better than legends or cranes bend. Very hard on the back nine comparably to the front nine.
You get what you pay for.
Not impressed at all with this place. The staff at the check in was extremely rude. The layout weaves all through crummy condos, it plays short and very tight. The greens looked nice but were very slow on some holes. The fairways were in good shape. Go off the fairways and it was not kept well at all. This course is far from scenic. Pay a bit more and play elsewhere.
The course has some good holes to play!!!
I like the course but it was way too slow! Had a marshall but he was just a nice guy and did not improve the pace of play.
No club house!!!! ( in a gift store )
Not worth more than $45.00 Only fair condition. Will never play again.
Nice greens
Nice greens. Thin grass cover in fairway due to type of grass. Typical Florida course
Convenience store pro shop?
I should have guessed it wouldn't be up to par when I checked in inside a convenience store. Condos on top of fairways and children playing on the course made for uncomfortable shots. Green conditions were furry - best description I can offer. Lame overall; certainly not worth the money.
Golf review
We found the fairways and greens to be in excellent shape. The course layout challenged your club selections and forced you to make good shots. Wayward shots proved to be punishing to your score. Would highly recommend this course to anyone!
