The Reserve at Orange Lake Resort
About
There are two 18-hole championship courses and two nine-hole courses at Orange Lake Resort & Country Club. The Reserve is the newer of the championship golf courses although technically it could be considered the older of the two. Originally designed in 1982 by Joe Lee, 16 years before the Arnold Palmer-designed Legends was added, the course was completely redesigned in 2005. New water features and more sand were added and seven holes were rerouted and redesigned. One hole that was made more challenging was the fifth hole. A long par 4 was transformed into a long par 3 that plays to almost 215 yards. In addition to the four golf courses, Orange Lake also boasts a lighted driving range and putting green as well as two chipping greens, one which features a sand bunker.

Very enjoyable
Great value for the money. Super condition. Great greens. Really enjoyable day.
Just Okay, Nothing Special
Staff was mediocre at best, 1 guy trying to get all of the bags onto carts. Pro shop guy didnt tell us that we needed a code to get range balls so when we got to the range the starter told us we had to go back to the pro shop to get the code. Ever hear of Walkie Talkies? Cart path from driving range to 1st tee had more pot holes in it than a highway in Alaska. Took a divot on my second shot and went to fill it, no sand in our container. Hello we want to look after your course for you so how easy is it to give us some sand. Asked for sand at the turn and was told to go back to check in area to get some, Uhh do you think you might want to get some brought out to us. Oh and by the way there were 2 kids playing in a sand trap on one of the holes, when we told them that at the turn they said they would send someone out. Where are the Marshalls? Didnt see one all day. Finished the round and when we went back to return the carts we were told that we couldnt carry our bags out to our vehicle, I guess they wanted the tip. We carried our own as I do believe we do own them. Overall the course was okay, too tight with houses lining all of the fairways, average shape, layout was nothing special. Would not return as there was nothing in our experience to bring us back.
Nice Vacation Course
Played with my wife (12 H/C) and her tees were ridiculously short. She drove the green on the very 1st par 4. Men's Tees (Back) were not as long as I usually play at home so I was 2 under after the 1st 3 holes. If you're looking for a nice looking course where you can score well and the ladies can look like bombers driving the ball, this is the place.
GOOD FOR THE MONEY
PRETTY DECENT COURSE FOR THE MONEY GREENS WERE FAIRLY FAST AND TRUE.A COUPLE OF HOLES WERE PRETTY TIGHT OFF THE TEE MY PHONE GPS APP HAD THE NINES REVERSED DON'T KNOW WHAT THAT WAS ALL ABOUT
Had Fun
Its a credit only, establishment . No cash for anything in the clubhouse. The course was in great shape and I liked the layout. Its a resort so get ready for fairway lined condos and such. The overall condition was fairly plush putting greens that were reasonably smooth and nice fairways throughout. The cart girl was very friendly and she took cash, thank goodness. Had a great time and I will come back.
OK
Decent course and in very good shape. Only complaint is that there is no course map on scorecard or posted by tee. If you don't know the course, it makes for some "shoot it that way and hope" tee shots.
Course was in great shape
The course is well maintained from Tee's to green. Cart paths are cement and in great shape. Golfers from beginners to above average will enjoy this course. Long hitters would find the sister course Legends here at Orange Lake Country Club a better option.
The course was fun!
I found this course to be easier than others in the area. I almost broke 90! We arrived late for our tee time (called the resort to let them know we were running late) and were accommodated with a another slot.
pace of play
the course was quite busy the day we played. We went as a 2some and did pair up with another 2some. we did play it from the tips which does make for quite a variable of shots needed.we did tee off at 1:30 and did play the last hole in the dark as was 6:00. It was just wait for each and every shot from the 1st hole thru the last hole
Decent course for a great price
Played the course in mid-January when the weather in Orlando was very warm. Played early in the morning when the course still had dew on the fairways and greens but it dried out during the round. The greens are in decent shape, and the course has some interesting twists to keep in challenging despite the flat lay-out. There are many water hazards that don't generally come into play off the forward tees. The course is busy but people keep pace of play. I would definitely recommend that course if you want to get a good round in at a very decent price.
Great course for the money.
One of the best deals in Orlando. You can almost always get on for under $45 and it's always in pretty decent shape. There are some easy holes but it has it's share of difficult ones too (4, 5, 6, 16, & 17). Play early though because it can jam up with hacks by late morning.
Good course for the money.
Pace of play was slow with many three and foursomes. Course was in very good shape. No spectacular scenery to speak of. Would play again for the $25 we paid for it.
Best greens I've played .
I am an average 17 handicap The reserve at Orange Lake was fairly short from the white tees, but the fairways were narrow so you had to be accurate. The rough was playable. The greens and fairways were excellent. definitely worth every dollar ,can't wait to play again. P.S. I am 62 years old and my average tee shot is 200 yards.
Good Track, greens were in great condition
An early Saturday morning T time added to the enjoyment as our 4-some made it around in just over 3-hours. When we finished groups were lined up for the first T, not unusual in Florida in January.
Quite scenic with a lot of water and and wetland hazards. Challenging but yet enjoyable. Try it!
The course is scenic and challenging.
While the overall length of the course is too long, the course demands accuracy. If you are not accurate, bring a lot of balls. The starter was very good at keeping the golfers moving as we has a late tee time and dayligt could have been an issue.
Great resort course
Course is in great shape. A bit tight, hook or slice will put you OB. Pace of play was average, but not terrible. Very fair layout and challening greens.
Place to avoid
Poor maintenance
Poor pace of play
A place to forget
Course is great value for the money!
Course was well maintained. Should be marked better. Some confusion as to landing areas etc.
Enjoyed the course
Course was in good shape. Some challenging holes on the back but a very fun layout.
