The Reserve at Orange Lake Resort
About
There are two 18-hole championship courses and two nine-hole courses at Orange Lake Resort & Country Club. The Reserve is the newer of the championship golf courses although technically it could be considered the older of the two. Originally designed in 1982 by Joe Lee, 16 years before the Arnold Palmer-designed Legends was added, the course was completely redesigned in 2005. New water features and more sand were added and seven holes were rerouted and redesigned. One hole that was made more challenging was the fifth hole. A long par 4 was transformed into a long par 3 that plays to almost 215 yards. In addition to the four golf courses, Orange Lake also boasts a lighted driving range and putting green as well as two chipping greens, one which features a sand bunker.

The course was ok but slow play.
The starter had difficulty deciding when we were to go out. He was waiting for another two some to appear that was not assigned with us. Pace of play was slow. There was no on site clubhouse for drinks or snacks afterward.
A good and picturesque course to play.
Only one comment for future courses to be built through housing. Do not build so close to fairways.
The course was average yet if you looking for somewhere to practice without spending a lot, this course will serve you well.
Friendly staff starts you off with the information needed. The tees are a little short which is offset by the requirements needed for accurate ball striking ability. The fairways are kept nice, yet the greens are on the slow side. Welcoming course and ideal value for playing with the wife or kids.
good course, nice facilities
I played in a hard rain, so that might have added to the greens being slow. The course went through condos on each side of every hole. The only time there wasn't a condo in play was when there was water. Range was OK, and staff was friendly.
Thoroughly enjoyed playing the course
Found the course to be enjoyable--fairways well kept and groomed----greens in good condition and fair
Course was in great condition. The greens were the best in years.
The Greens were the best in years. The weather was great. Started at 1pm and over by 5pm. Great course for the money at this time of the year.
great layout, picturesque
What a course! Great fairways, perfectly marked. The greens were manicured and true. The staff was friendly and helpful and made you feel welcomed and important. What a great experience!
Great Course For What I Paid
Paid 30 bucks and felt like I got more than my moneys worth. Good conditions. Greens were in amazing shape. Very consistent one to the next. Some tight fairways but that is to be expected from a resort course.
Good Course but needs updates
Orange Lake Reserve is on a great resort, but the course needs to have tee boxes upgraded. Has three tee boxes, yardage is not correct.
Good course
Course is in good condition. Offers challenge but is reasonably friendly
Challenging layout
I arrived at 6:25 for a 7:00 tee time and the pro shop was not open. The starter did not offer range time or practice green - not very welcoming. The young staff were pleasant but I didn't feel the clubhouse was ready for customers. The course was interesting with good greens and plenty of sand traps (which could use a little more sand in them). The absence of GPS equipment made the round a little more difficult for the first timer and the scorecard was no help at all with intermediate distances. I enjoyed the morning and will play again but once again at the end of play there was no one to assist with clubs and inquire into my experience that day. Some work to be done here with customer experience.
poor poor course
the legends course was excellent. however the reserve leaves much to be desired. there was a 3 to 4 foursome wait and the course was dry and in poor condition. not worth playing at any price!!!!!
This course was convenient
The course is nice as its on the resort. Greens were nice. Played this course because the legends course was 3 times the price. It's a good course if you don't want to spend a lot of money. Staff was ok - did their job but not super friendly
GOOD COURSE FOR THE MASSES.
This is an average high handicapper course. It was a good course for the money. Weahter was great and we ahd some fun.
Pleasant surprise
We found the course in very good condition and improved over last year. The fairways and greens were excellent. Pace of play was good. Enjoyed the round.
Well kept challenging course
The course enables you to hit tee shots over water, or move up to a shorter tee box that avoids this risk. The landing areas are wide and fully visible. The greens are moderately quick, but shaped to make putting fun. Most of the plentiful water runs along side the fairways, and the roughs are cut so that you can quickly find your ball. A fun place to play.
This course is hard to negtiate.
The course was in faiir shape for the amount of play it gets. Tee boxes were rough. Bigest complaint is there are no hole layouts on the cards or at the tee boxes. You never knew where the hole went, or where hazards were located.
Nice course surrounded by villas.
I found the course moderately challenging. The greens were in fair shape.
Nice course, good value
Nice course, well maintained. Greens were in great condition when we played. Friendly staff.
Bad cart guys, great course
We had an early morning tee time. The two older gentlemen seemed to be short and ill tempered to be helping us get on the path to the first tee. They seemed very unorganized.
Once on the course and getting the frustration of the morning greeting out of our heads, we found the course to be very enjoyable and not as easy as others had claimed.
