The Reserve at Orange Lake Resort
About
There are two 18-hole championship courses and two nine-hole courses at Orange Lake Resort & Country Club. The Reserve is the newer of the championship golf courses although technically it could be considered the older of the two. Originally designed in 1982 by Joe Lee, 16 years before the Arnold Palmer-designed Legends was added, the course was completely redesigned in 2005. New water features and more sand were added and seven holes were rerouted and redesigned. One hole that was made more challenging was the fifth hole. A long par 4 was transformed into a long par 3 that plays to almost 215 yards. In addition to the four golf courses, Orange Lake also boasts a lighted driving range and putting green as well as two chipping greens, one which features a sand bunker.

had some nice holes but had too many dumb holes where homes come into play for the guy who sprays the ball ocasionally.
course needs more markers as it was difficult to find out some yardages, some fairways and tees coulda used a cutting as well
Needs attention
Some of the greens were weedy and fairways were patchy in spots.
Makes you think
You need a buggy, long distance sometimes between green and tee. Lovely course, can be played by beginners and Professionals. Loved it, will play again.
Decent course, but needs some work on the greens.
Recently reseeded, cart path only. Fairways decent, but greens were like putting on shag carpet-slow and bumpy. Many ball marks NOT repaired. No course marshall or beverage cart.
Could have been a nice round of golf.
According to the scorecard, a Golf Ambassador will issue a slow play warning. We never did see one. After four hours and 13 holes we quit. There were three groups on the next tee!
Challenging, but fair.
Course was in very good condition for this time of year. Course was not overly long, but challenging. You need a good short game to score well. Play was slow, but we have not played the course before, so not sure that this was the norm.
Course is in good condition.
The layout is very friendly. The course starts out with some "easy holes", then starts to toughen up, with the toughest holes being on the back nine. I have played the teal tees and the white tees. They are both a challenge, with the white taking the driver out of your hands on some holes. Greens are a little slow, but very puttable. Down hill putts are not totally out of control. I would recommend this course for all level of golfers. It is a test, but still fun to play.
Nice course with some challenging holes but open enough for the average golfer to enjoy!
Does need to deal with the fire ant issue! Some tee boxes and areas around a few greens need to be treated!
Fun & pristine course.
This is typical Florida course in Resort but conditions are always pristine. Fairways like carpet. Greens roll fast & true w/ many subtle undulations. Aesthetically pleasing to the eye. Carts have windshields & rain cover for bags. I play this course every so often because it's enjoyable & chalenging.
Orange Lake
The Reserve course at Orange Lake has been well maintained with pristine greens and fairways. Although a relatively easy course, the design and close proximity of the villas makes some of the holes tight and challenging
We would most definitely go back to enjoy this lovely golf course.
We thoroughly enjoyed the round of golf that we played at the Reserve and we would recommend it to anyone who is an avid golfer. The deal that we got through Golf Now was exceptional and we will continue to look for further offerings at this course. It presented, to us, just the right amount of challenges and the greens were very fast and consistent from hole 1 to hole 18. For those who plan to play, we hope you enjoy it as much as we did ... cheers.
Good Course to test your skills
The staff are friendly, especially the starters. There are some layout difficulties, as some tee boxes are harder to find than others. The course itself is challenging, but not as difficult as made to believe. The price point is also fair for this course.
poor customer service
I agree it was a rainy day, but they waited till tee time to tell us they would close early due to poor attendance...not my problem as a paying customer. By the 10th hole it was the third time one of their staff members had hounded behind us to the point he was going to start removing the flags from the pin ahead of us. When it was all said and done we finished our round but not before draining the fun peace I find in the game. I do not look forward to returning to this course.
Resort play. Can be slow.
I enjoy this course. Interesting holes and greens.Slow play can be frustrating.
A moderate challenging golf course
Well kept vacation resort golf course, enjoyed the course layout, and the scenic bird sanctuaries
This course is always in top condition
Narrow fairways and ample amount of water to challenge your game. Course is always in good condition and fun to play. Shot makers course.
Enjoyed playing this course
I play golf frequently and look for a good price. This course is well maintained and is fun to play.
The Reserve is a Resort course, fun to play with a few challenging holes, always looking good and playing well.
The greens had been recently aerated which you expect this time of year. They were sanded and sweep and played well.
My favorite hole is #7, the tee shot is down a narrow tree line fairway, which as you stand over your ball begins to look more like a bowling alley with gutter's of sand. It requires a dead-on 200 to 225 yard, down the middle shot to be in position for the dog leg left, then a 100 yard wedge to the elevated green. Wow! what a hole.
Nice Course
Very nicely layed out....challenging yet rewarding if you het good shots....was a little wet the day we played but otherwise the course was in great shape. I've played most of the courses in and around the Orlando area. This one is one I'll play againOrland
