The Reserve at Orange Lake Resort
About
There are two 18-hole championship courses and two nine-hole courses at Orange Lake Resort & Country Club. The Reserve is the newer of the championship golf courses although technically it could be considered the older of the two. Originally designed in 1982 by Joe Lee, 16 years before the Arnold Palmer-designed Legends was added, the course was completely redesigned in 2005. New water features and more sand were added and seven holes were rerouted and redesigned. One hole that was made more challenging was the fifth hole. A long par 4 was transformed into a long par 3 that plays to almost 215 yards. In addition to the four golf courses, Orange Lake also boasts a lighted driving range and putting green as well as two chipping greens, one which features a sand bunker.

Challenging and beautiful course
Many sand traps and water holes. Excellent condition.1/1
Good for the money
Ok course - not long - very generous tee boxes for women. Fairly busy and slow, but not too bad considering there were only two of us.
A good value
This was a good experience. Staff was friendly and the price was right. Course is very tight and on the short side. Not too many chances to hit driver but enough to still feel satisfied. Course was a little wet and conditions were average. Condos are spread through the property. I was able to get the first time of the day and played in just about 2 hours as a single. Compared to other Orlando courses, this does not rank too high but still presents good value in the Summertime.
A great course for an average golfer. Lots of Fun!
I would highly recomend this course to visitors and it is easy to get on and a lot of fun to play. It has some easy greens and some hard ones but it test your abilities. A great course.
Great value for money with a few very tricky holes winding through the resort.
Having expected to be playing the poorer of the two courses we were pleasantly surprised by the condition of the Reserve course and consistency of the greens. We had over an hour delay to start of our round due to "frost". Coming from Scotland we knew it wasn't proper frost and felt the delay was unnecessary. We were teamed up with another guest to make a 3-ball, and he was good company and knew the course, however this is a pet hate of mine as I prefer to play the round with my friend(s) alone. At $40 per head for round including golf cart this was great value and a very enjoyable round close to Disney.
AWESOME COURSE
By far one of the top 10 courses that I have played. Everything about it was great. Great views, the course was in great shape and had a good challenge to it but not so difficult that you couldn't enjoy your round. Staff, pace, people where so good.
Slow pace but good value
Pace of play was slow and had to wait practically on every hole. Without a Marshall to monitor pace of play, had to wait.
Excellent Course in the Disney Attraction area
This course was great for 2 reasons. Proximity to our timeshare in the Disney attraction area. Driving range, and nice blend of wilderness and resort. Pace was decent, Marshals and rangers out to keep the pace moving. Course was in pristine conditions. Played here a year ago with a buddy, I brought back my wife to replay another round. Great Value.
The course was in great condition.
Excellent golf course. Would play there again without reservation.
Course is very challenging
This course is an older course. It is not a resort course. However, it is a very nice course and super challenging. Be accurate with your driver, or double bogey will be your score. Definitely recommend, but bring extra balls.
interesting course to play. Irons and hybrids needed
The course provides many challenges if you make errant shot from the Tees. The course could use some maps on the score card or at the Hole markers. Player who has never played the course before will find using they driver could prove costly as you won't know where water comes into play or how much area of play in the unseen area behind the trees on doglegs. Distances are in question too as there is few ground markers to give you club selection which is pivotal on this course.
Course also needs a starter and a marshal to enhance speed of play and help with the etiquette around the course to ensure all can enjoy the round.
A very good course in excellent condition.
The course is always in great shape. The greens were somewhat beat up due to holiday play and the lack of players repairing ball marks. I live in the area and try to play Orange Lake Courses about once monthly and recommend them to my to everyone.
The course is challenging
The course provides a challenge for the amateur golfer like me. As far as the layout is concerned I felt a bit daunted by the close proximity of the houses. One slip up could cause injury or damage to property.
Course was fun to play.
Course was fun to play. Lots of driving through the resort, have to watch out for traffic. Some paths were missing signs, you have to be careful when going from some holes to others. Greens were hard to read until you got used to it. Fairways were in good shape. Bunkers were well maintained.
Fun course to play for a great price.
The course was well maintained. We played mid- afternoon for a great price. We arrived a little early and were able to tee-off right away. It had some water hazards but otherwise a moderately challenging course. The staff was friendly and helpful. The course is very easy to find. It wasnt too crowded at the mid-afternoon time and we played 18 holes in 3&1/2 hrs. it was very enjoyable.
A pretty good short course.
If you play this course from the tips you'd better be able to hit the ball where you aim it. It's very narrow, and although short (tips - 6505 , white - 6031, yellow - 5119) presents some very challenging holes. The course appears to get heavy traffic, and is somewhat the worse for wear at present. The greens were over-seeded and uncut. Our threesome got around in little more than three hours in a late afternoon round. Overall a fun course to play.
great layout and golfer can move along smoothly
Always enjoy Orange Lake Reserve....the atmosphere is very enjoyable and can also see wildlife...tropical birds and alligators...deluxe facility
interesting course located in a gated resort community;
the course is generally in good condition although the greens could be improved.
The course has interesting features
The start was delayed due to lack of carts. The pace of play was slow due to the numbers on the course and the fact the some had no idea about course etiquette & how to play the game. This wasn't helped by a fourball who jumped in on the tenth & held up play because of the parts of the course they were playing from & making calls on cell phones appeared to be more important than hitting the golf ball. To be fair our previous experiences at this course were much better but I may not bother in the future. Therefore I wouldn't recommend it in future
