Bayou Oaks City Park North Course
About
Golf has been played at City Park since 1902 when the nine-hole New Orleans Golf Club opened. At the time it was one of only 80 golf courses in the country. There were four 18-hole courses at the complex before it was destroyed by Hurricane Katrina in 2005. The North Course was rebuilt in 2009 and now there is also a 36-hole mini-golf complex. The course is just over 5,400 yards from the back tees and features water on eight holes. Proper club selection is the key to scoring well on this layout. The golf course is popular among both locals and visitors because it's not only player friendly enough to accommodate all skill levels but its location is also easily accessible from anywhere in New Orleans. The affordable rates make it even more appealing and there's also a 74-stall driving range.

Golf Advisor: Top 25 Most Improved U.S. Golf Courses (2021 #23)
Reviews
NORTH was in horrible shape
Greens were shaggy to say the least and barren in most parts. Hole 2 had a temporary green which wast revealed until I played it. Fairways were just ok. Rough had not been cut and I lost to balls due to this issue. For the price it was cheap but the course conditions were atrocious.
North Course UnPlayable
The grass in the fairways has not been cut in a very long time. The course is unplayable and the greens are an absolute mess. Don't waste your time and money on this course...
Every other course is better
The greens have cancer so putting is pointless. The tee boxes are uneven and uncut. Since the South course is such a nice course and it's the only driving range worth going to in the New Orleans area the course is always packed even though it's an absolutely horrible course. Every other course that you can find on this site is better and the majority of them are cheaper. If you have the extra money play the South course it's nice but overpriced.
Ehhhhh. You get what you pay for.
Greens are terrible on the front nine. They become below average on the back nine. Fairways can be un kempt. Tee boxes have potholes. But you can't hate on it too much because you get what you pay for...it's a classic spot. A good place to learn the game and not take it too seriously.
Decent
Local weather had the course in pretty bad shape, but the greens were great. Good value for your money.
Only if you are desperate or a beginner..
It’s a shame they don’t keep this course up, because it’s actually a good fun layout. It’s a goat ranch and The greens are horrible.
If you are a beginner, go for it before playing a real course. Otherwise, save your money and play somewhere else.
