SunRidge Canyon Golf Club

About
SunRidge Canyon Golf Club provides adventure amid natural terrain over 6,823 yards of par-71 golf. The golf course was laid out by the golf course architect Keith Foster, who hid the golf course in the ridges and canyons of the foothills of the McDowell Mountains, one of the last untouched bastions of the Southwestern United States.
The SunRidge Canyon Golf Club's signature hole is the 17th, and it is unique, giving golfers the option of shooting a 209-yard, par 3 over a box canyon today and then going for a 152-yard par 3 from an elevated tee tomorrow. Foster discovered the elevated-tee opportunity during a tour of the golf course while it was being constructed and added the Canyon set of tees right then. The vistas he knew golfers would get were enough to convince Foster to set up the second set of tees.
After a round of golf at the SunRidge Canyon Golf Club, head back to the Ridge Room, which attracts visitors and locals for the great view and Southwestern cuisine.

Great track!
Leave your ego with the starter and enjoy some surprising holes with deep bunkers and lightening fast greens!
T & L
Fun, challenging course. Forward tees made it pleasant for my wife to play. Beautiful scenery and saw our first bobcat.
Great customer service
Thanks for a fun experience - Greg was helpful and kind. We rented clubs, played with friendly strangers and felt welcomed. Thank you!
Fun Course
Fun course, great test, staff were awesome, clubhouse patio/bar area is hard to beat with the views!
Unfortunately though the golf course was very disappointing condition wise…..
For $170 (after Noon) greens were in need of some serious attention, fairways wet and shaggy, bunkers weren’t even raked, sprinklers came on while my playing partners were still on the range tee, they got wet, their cart and clubs got wet before teeing off!
I know it’s early in the season, but I understand this place has all summer to be more than ready when reopening…….
SRC not yet in prime-time shape
Course is in generally-good condition; noting that it is still cart path only (CPO), with greens not-yet cut down fully and sand still being present (more or less) on most greens. Rough is VERY rough, with tall thick blades of grass that, many times, will prevent direct contact with the ball. Fairways were good, with a few wet spots due to some heavy watering. Sand traps were full and maintained. Pace was excellent (our foursome completed our round in 4:15, with me walking), with no one pushing us. With a Hot Deal, there was good value, particularly with an 8am start. Note that this can be a tough course, with desert always present at almost every turn. Be prepared to be challenged….
Wanna play this course again
A nice and challenging golf course Ft. Hills. We enjoyed the round.
June - Sunridge Canyon
Course is in good condition as we start to heat up… one of the few course that shuts down in the Summer, so play it soon if you were wanting to!
One of my favorite courses in the Valley
This is my 3rd time playing Sunridge Canyon. I love this course. We booked a 12:20 tee time and arrived excited to be here. On the first tee box we were greeted by the bev cart. She informed us that she was finished for the day. So we ordered drinks and snacks to hold us over until the snack shack on 10. The shack was not open. We expected to grab a quick bite to eat but the shack was closed. My partner needed to eat so we ended at 14. We had a nice golf day but we were bummed not to finish the round because of hunger. Great course, I wish the food and bev hours would have been communicated at check in.
Fountain Hills Golf 2024
It had been a long time since playing this course, and while trying to find a course under $200 per person didn’t work out, this one ends up being about $240 with taxes and etc.
I had read reviews pro and con, and while I thought the course was in good shape, and the greens were pretty true and fast, there are 3 holes that I would recommend the mgmt think warning visitors about. 3 holes in a row have barancas (rocky trenches with sand) crossing the fairway right about where a normal tee shot might land. I have played these types of courses before and often they will have signage at each tee box indicating how far the hazard is. We had to drive up to the hazard just to verify what was going on, and then subtracting the yardage back to the tees we were playing and hope the GPS was accurate. Cumbersome….
Otherwise, I enjoyed the round, the views are awesome and I could live in Fountain Hills!!
