SunRidge Canyon Golf Club
About
SunRidge Canyon Golf Club provides adventure amid natural terrain over 7,002 yards of par-71 golf. The golf course was laid out by the golf course architect Keith Foster, who hid the golf course in the ridges and canyons of the foothills of the McDowell Mountains, one of the last untouched bastions of the Southwestern United States.
The SunRidge Canyon Golf Club's signature hole is the 17th, and it is unique, giving golfers the option of shooting a 209-yard, par 3 over a box canyon today and then going for a 152-yard par 3 from an elevated tee tomorrow. Foster discovered the elevated-tee opportunity during a tour of the golf course while it was being constructed and added the Canyon set of tees right then. The vistas he knew golfers would get were enough to convince Foster to set up the second set of tees.
After a round of golf at the SunRidge Canyon Golf Club, head back to the Ridge Room, which attracts visitors and locals for the great view and Southwestern cuisine.

A great place in Fountain Hills
This was the 2nd stop on our Golf Zoo Package and the facilities are fantastic. The clubhouse, driving range, and restaurant are all high quality and the food was excellent. I can't recall the last time a group of 12 had lunch and all the items were fantastic.
As with any new course, playing it for the first time provides it's challenges but the views awesome and the course is a fair test. The Wicked 6 live up to their name but still very playable. Long hitters can bomb away on most holes and short hitters can still find a way to have fun without posting a big number on the scorecard. The views on the back are worth it, especially the cart drive you take after hitting your tee shot on the 17th hole.
The only complaint, the greens were slow on that Monday. I do not know the maintenance schedule but based on the conditions of other courses and the rest of this course, I expected more than shaggy, bumpy greens.
Great course, but tough
I enjoyed the course, but by playing at almost 4pm I had a problem finishing 18. The course put me with a slow group of members, so I had to break loose after 5 holes to get as many as 15 holes in before dark.
One complaint though, GolfNow gave me a $89 rate at that time, while the course had a going rate after 3PM of $59.
Nice but tough
I loved the course but was confused when they held me bak so late and put me with someboldet members.
I had to play from the front tees and lost at least s half hour. This preventrd me from finishing 18, snd i had to miss most of the best holes.
As far as value, i see that the course offers a 59 rate after 3 and i paid 89
Six Stars - An Absolute Must Experience
From arrival to departure, I felt like a Member at a premier country club. I was immediately greeted in the parking lot by Nate who welcomed my group and me. He introduced us to the starter, Tom, who was one of the most kind people I’ve ever met. The pro shop was immaculate and very well designed. The Pro, Wes, checked us in. Talk about going above and beyond. Over small talk I told him the swing was a little rusty and I needed to bring my A game for the group I was with. Unscheduled, he took me over to the driving range and gave me a 5 minute tune-up. The course was in fantastic shape, greens rolled pure. The Wicked Six earns its name and will keep me coming back for more. After Golf, we grabbed drinks and food in the restaurant. The atmosphere is one of a kind. There’s a fire pit, outdoor patio, and even corn hole for continued fun. I had played SunRidge 4-5 years back, and it’s a whole new club since then. If you haven’t been in some time, it’s time to experience the new SunRidge Canyon!
A wonderful afternoon
In a course with its own unique style & challenge but tough to make a decent score with its tough set of holes, especially the Wicked 6!
Disappointing Golf Course
The course conditions where the poorest of our trip but still acceptable. The tee boxes are well set up for all levels of players. Our group was 2 couples. The course marshal spoiled our outing. He was rude in his pushing the women of our group to play quicker. We had to wait as a group on every 3 par for the foursome ahead of us to play out and we rarely saw the golfers behind us. Our cart GPS said we finished 5 minutes off pace as we waited for the group in front of us to finish the 18th hole.. I can only think the marshal does not like women on his golf course. There are much better chooses in Scottsdale to
play golf. Would not recommend this course.
Great course
Love the layout & setting for this course. Amenities are very good, although what I would expect for prices. Have played the course a few times, but still having difficulty reading greens. Will definitely try it again.
Tee times suck.
I got yo the courses st 12:15 for my 12:39 tee time. At no time during check in was there any mention of a delay. I warmed up and waited, waited and waited. Finally I was told that there was a half hour delay. It was more like 45 minutes. I didn't like teeing off into a crowd of players trying to get my round finished. I left, no refund as I paid online. They should have been upfront with delays at check in.
Great course
Heard a lot of great things about SRC, and it was all of that and more. Very challenging course in very good condition. Hit it straight and you’ll enjoy the round even more. A must play.
Perfect day with a slight breeze
Course with in great shape. I played with two members that only moved here because of this golf course. They play it 5 times a week.
I loved the landscape, fairways and greens. The bunkers may need a little work, but I heard that was in managements plan in the near future. I was in "Awe"
most of the day with my surrounding , the perfect sunny chilly morning with a slight breeze that made it all come together as a perfect morning. Staff and pace of play of under 4 hours was great.
Greens are hard and fast, so do not skip practicing on the putting green to get your feel. Up there with Troon North course.
Great
We had a great game, the course was in great shape finished the round in 4 hrs. Definetly would play again!
so close
I found the course to be a challenge and leaving up to all the recommendations I had heard before booking the course.
Unfortunately the course had a pro am the morning I was there so all of the afternoon tee times were backed up.
I was disappointed when I had to quit after 9 holes, as I heard great things about the back 9
Over valued
As i walked away from the counter after watchimg my visa get whacked for $150 i thought i was going to be in for a treat of a golf course. But unfortunately i was very underwhelmed by SunRidge. Maybe we caught them on a bad day, i dont know, but the greens were average at best, not very fast and not very smooth. The layout was enjoyable and of course the weather was perfect, but at $150 i was expecting to be blown away and I really wasnt. I would rather drive 20 mins out of town and play verde river for under 125 then pay $150 at sunridge.
Great Value!
Third of three played during WMPO weekend. Course is set in the canyon. Stunning views. The Wicked 6 are exactly that, WICKED! Make sure to have your camera with you, especially on 16 and 18. Greens were a bit inconsistent, but still playable. Correct shop placement will payoff. Listen to the flyover previews on the GPS.
5 some no Bueno
For some reason they allowed a 5 some to play in front of us. I found this very surprising and disappointing .
It was a very busy day so to allow this was poor management
Outstanding course
Great layout. The wicked 6 to finish up are all difficult holes. Greens were in great condition.
