Palm Valley Golf Club - Palms Course

About
The Palms Course at the Palm Valley Golf Club is one of two 18-hole courses offered at the facility. Located only a short distance from downtown Phoenix, the course is not only conveniently located but also accessible by any skill level of golfer. It provides adequate challenge for advanced players while offering a chance for less experienced golfers to hone their game. The golf course has a links-style design with a desert landscape that ranges between hilly and flat. Bunkers protect both the fairways and greens. There is also a lake that forms water hazards for two holes. Beginning in February, wind usually becomes at Palm Valley Golf Club's Palms Course.

9 holes were nice. Staff was terrible
We played a round today and the West course was in decent shape but the North course is in desperate need of watering. Also, we were a foursome with a twosome in front of us and behind us. The did not schedule them together so we were obviously playing slower than either group and there was a gap in front of us. There was no one in the snack bar at the turn so we had to wait 10 minutes for someone to show up. After the turn which we hit in less than two hours the ranger named Craig told us we needed to play faster and followed is for three holes. Totally rude and uncalled for. It is not our fault at how they scheduled the groups to go out. We were able to finish in 4:20 which is really not that bad of a round. But because of the ranger harassing us it turned in to a very bad experience. It was such a bad experience that I will not go back there. There are so many options for golf in the area, don’t wast your time with this course where they don’t respect their customers.
Not in “on season” shape
Cups sticking up out of the holes, tee boxes that should be closed and re-sodded, bunkers with just a veneer of sand... I love the course, but it is not in good shape right now. Certainly not worth the premium rate they’re charging today.
Winter golf
As all a challenge to play the course but enjoy doing it.
Great course at a great value
Course was in great shape especially considering the rain two days previously. Played another course the day before at it was in poor shape compared to Palm Valley. Course was well taken care of and the staff is always friendly and helpful. Great pace of play. 1 p.m. tee time and finished with daylight to spare.
Great course(s) and great value
Palm valley course was in great shape - played north/south combo.
Fairways and greens were great. Staff was extremely helpful - even saw beverage cart 3 times for an afternoon tee time. Pace was good - finished just. Under 4 hours on a Saturday.
Compared to other course in as good a shape the rate was great.
Overall great experience and will be back, possibly next weekend :)
Great track!
I played the West / North combo for the first time on Saturday and it was excellent! The overseed came out amazing and the greens were in great shape! I would highly recommend checking this out as it is a great bang for your buck! Everyone in the shop was very welcoming and made the experience even better. Keep up the great work!!
Nice course and good value
Course was in great shape. A few wet spots but overall very good and fun course. Speed of play was good with no delays. Would definitely play here again.
Course is Ok.
The course was a bit wet and sloppy. Seems odd given the whether was a bit cooler today. Also, several holes had a bit longer carry go get to the fairway. That adds some challenge to my more beginner playing partner. It would be best for beginner to play it forward.
Pace of play was pretty good...at just over 4 hours!
Great Condition after Overseed
This course was in really good shape. The overseed here came in nicely. We played the North/South combo. The North course was overseed a couple weeks before the South, and was cut a little closer on the fairways and greens. Fairways on both were still very moist and getting a lot of rollout, but played well. South was a little fluffier, but not bad at all. Greens on both sides rolled great and held shots.
Nice course - good shape
Course was in great shape after overseeding. Greens were a little slow but will continue to improve with a little time. Pace was quite slow was only drawback of the day.
Great course
Would play this course every chance I get!! Even through over seeding the course was still a great course to play!!!
Cart Path only - no water
The north course was Cart Path only due to over seeding. This issue was that there was no water (yes we were told) but knew there was a travelling cart to supply items for purchase. Saw the person once and was told she would be on the north course for added service. No one showed up and the day was hot. It was uncomfortable since we did not bring enough water/drink assuming we would purchase same. Also not enough shade. Only recommend during cooler times.
Relaxed day with friends
Not crowded, Good pace, good shape for October.
Greens way slow today. Great Phoenix weather.
A solid Sunday Golf experience.
