Coldwater Golf Park

Been playing Coldwater for a long time. The new ownership is working hard to improve the course. FINALLY, fixing the fringes with the greens which have been dead for years. Tee boxes are vastly improved. Greens are very, very good. The negative is the fairways. Not a lot of grass but the upcoming overseed should fix that. Spoke to Brian the new food and beverage manager and he has an exciting new menu, beers and cocktails for the upcoming season. Played for $20.

I don’t know why this course has such a low star rating. It’s a great golf course. Fun to play, staff is always friendly and they seem to work really hard to maintain the course. Well priced and just a great course to spend the afternoon working on your game or with friends.

Played 18 with a cart for $15 with golf pass. Great course especially for the money. Not super long but challenging course with all the desert OB. Only complaint is the greens were long on the front 9 and short on the back 9 and not great condition. But that is to be expected playing summer golf in phoenix.

Will be back to coldwater again.

Dude I love Coldwater. Such an underrated course. When I called and asked about conditions I was told it was in bad shape and the greens weren’t good. BRUH it was actually so good. Sure, there’s a few weeds growing with the grass in some fairways, and desert areas are a mess but man I didn’t experience hitting out of dead grass or divots or desert areas at all. I was hitting green in regulation 80% today from good lies and I was even one putting on multiple holes. I was pleasantly surprised at the speed of the greens, today was the perfect speed for me, only saw 2 spots on 2 greens with replacement sod on it, other than that the cut of the greens was great and they aren’t fast but they roll great. I could see that the bunkers need work, they look hard and crusty but I’m sure that’s a topic of concern. I’m having a hard time understanding why the pro shop guy said the course was in such bad shape! Overall, greens are great right now, fairways are great minus a few weeds, one cruddy tee box on hole 8* (par three), pace is wide open so fast for me, but no ranger so could be slow for others, and cart gps was off my 15+ yards on some holes. Great value, great course, can’t wait to come back.

New owners. They are working hard at getting this course in better shape than previous. Already in playable condition. Fairways are fair. Greens are green, rolls true but slow. Tee boxes still need work. Rough is very rough. Carts needs to he wiped down. Has gps and ice chest with ice. All said. Enjoyed my round. Looking forward to seeing the progress. Do far, so good. Keep it up.

Overall course has improved since I last played here a few months back.

Booked 18, left after the front 9. Played this course back in May and it was good. Apparently the summer season turned this into a dumpster fire. There were large rectangular patches of sod cut out and replaced on putting greens (poorly blended causing trash conditions for putting). Tee box for blue tees on hole 6 or 7 was so overgrown it was embarrassing. Loved the commutes in May, not sure I’ll be back after this experience.

This course is undergoing a change in management. The owners of Bell Air took over and are cleaning it up in a good way. The greens are already in much better shape than they have been all summer. The fairways still need work and there is no overseed in the containers and nowhere to fill the seed. If they want to improve they need seed and keep up the improvements. This course should look entirely different in the next few months.

This course is truly something special and only just beginning the stages of reaching its full potential. Lots of harsh reviews for a course I could say simply, name one $30 par 72 that plays this nicely and is in compatible condition. You really can’t, the course rates are realistically low within reason yet your getting a way better experience then anywhere else for that rate. I try to play here once or twice a month and I always enjoy it. Great staff, when they are in a good mood which is the majority of my experiences. Not to mention they are rennovating the course under new ownership. Can’t wait to see it get even better. But also I urge everyone to enjoy it before the rates go crazy this winter. Local courses with fair rates are few and far between!
