Robert Trent Jones Jr. designed Las Sendas Golf Club's course, opened in 1995 and among the toughest U.S. courses. Two Zagat surveys have ranked it among the top 50 U.S. golf courses.

Las Sendas Golf Club offers a desert course demanding top play as it takes golfers through the Usery Mountains, with a vista of Phoenix as the tradeoff for managing rough land close to 1,800 feet above the desert. Jones didn't create a course with whimsical decorations like railroad ties, and he didn't build targets. The golf course is for those who strategize, mapping the way from tee to green.

After a round at Las Sendas Golf Club, head to Las Sendas Grille, for the full bar, including wines from California, Australia and Europe, as well as four tap beers and domestic and imported bottles.

Beautiful Track

Played the course the beginning of May, thought it was great then, and we would try again it again Little did we know it was the first day after a shut down. Course was in fantastic shape, however it was car-path only, which made the round a bit slower than normal. Brand new carts with GPS system, with fly-over preview technology. Greens were a bit slow, because of the over seeding. Still a great course.

Extremely slow play

The course was outstanding, the management not so much. After 5 hours we had 4 hole left to play, we exited the course without finishing because we had other commitments. The course was running cart path only so play was slow because of this condition. The management made no effort to space out the tee times to help the situation. They also were requiring full fees, which was criminal in this case.

Beautiful but painfully slow

Beautiful course but way overbooked after over-seeding. 5.5 hours to play a round of golf is ridiculous. Marshalls couldn’t do much because the course was overbooked.

Poor Management After Overseeding

The course, while looked nice after overseeing, didn’t play very well since they couldn’t trim it. The main problem was there was no accountability for a 3 hr front nine since they overloaded the course with cart path only. Blamed it on “inexperienced golfers” which makes no sense at a place that cost $150 to play at. Probably great otherwise but crap first experience.

Fun and really beautiful course

Today was the first time open since the overseading, so the greens where a little heavy and the grass a little high. It seems that soon will be ver nice. I enjoyed he landscapes and the challenge. Also the nature and animals running free.

Really nice course.

You've Swindled your last $70 for me!

Terrible! Terrible! Terrible!

Expecting the public to pay full-fare for a golf course with verticut greens (with the clippings thrown all around the fringes and collars of the greens), and DEAD fairways to the point that you couldn't see the ball as is was careening into the desert because there wasn't enough friction on the deadpan fairways to stop it, is completely wrong!

Then, throwing a foursome off the back nine as we are finishing up on the ninth green, thereby extending our already long round to almost 5hours in 115 degree heat was completely unacceptable!

I will NOT be returning!

Should Have Closed Today

The grounds keeping staff were out in the fairway in front of us running back and forth with no regards to us. This happened on many holes throughout our round and it took the fun right out of our game. The greens were still recovering from aeration and the fairways were brown and hard as a rock. The conditions were so bad we were shocked given its reputation. They should have been closed for the grounds maintenance.

Besides having cool views, elevation change and tough greens to hit, it’s Very challenging and requires lots of strategy.

Course Condition

The course normally is one of the finest in the are. I have played at 10 times before. I understand you guys are preparing for winter reseeding. The font fairways were not payable. The back nine what I expected the whole course was going to be like. You guys should have let the players play the back nine twice. If I knew the conditions were not good . I would have not played that day.

Thank you

Sadhu

Like the Course BUT sub par service

The layout of the course I like and why I willl continue to play here but the service from inside the pro shop is lacking and clearly does not care about the customer. I witnessed multiple interactions with other customers (not myself) that shows they have no customer service training and one of the individuals was I think a manager. The starter was friendly and accommodating but a complete lack of response from the marshal with a 5+ hr round and we saw the marshal multiple times but not once did he stop or apologize for pace of play he just cruised by and did not even acknowledge our group. We saw the bevridge cart multiple times which was a plus and the young woman was friendly as she prepared our order. Overall a 3 star rating based on course layout starter and bevridge cart. Big downfall to the staff inside the pro shop marshal and terrible pace of play. The marshal needs some serious trading especially for a course such as las sendas
