About

It is has a traditional layout that features large, subtly sloped greens that are guarded by bunkers. Stately cottonwood and eucalyptus trees line the generous fairways. Lakes form water hazards that come into play on five holes and there is also native rough throughout the course. With four sets of tee boxes, the course offers a suitable challenge for players of all skill levels. In addition to the course and the school, the Golden Hills Golf Club has a putting green and chipping area as well.

Golfer Reviews
Not a good choice
In the past I’ve played this course many times. I’ve not played it in 2 years. Had friends visiting from home and wanted to golf so I recommended this course. Course is older but always in decent condition. What a shock and embarrassment to be hit with the conditions of this course. Imagine playing golf in the Sahara desert with assorted mud bogs. Very little green anywhere unless you are counting the weeds. Even the greens were not in good condition. Front nine is the worst with some improvement on the back. Very poor value for the price we paid. Definitely WON’T be going back unless we hear of MASSIVE improvements
Good location
Good location but the course is a bit rough. Some of the greens are thin as are the fairways and at times you may want to bump your ball onto a green patch. Pro-shop staff are friendly. The restaurant food is very good as are the friendly staff. We enjoyed the day!
A good day
A good course layout. Scenic. We had a late start so we were concerned with being able to complete the round before sunset. The pace of play is great and we finished easily. The staff were really friendly and the amenities were very good.
Needs work
Course is drying out!!
Fairways have a lot of dry areas that your basically hitting off of the dirt
Vertily no grass
Without watering anything but the greens the course has very little grass , almost like playing in the desert
Course needs a lot work.cant find any grass at all
Surprise to see this place is still open.
Never play this course again
Goat path dirt farm
This course could be great but…..
The turf conditions here from tee to green are atrocious.
Puddles in fairways next to burnt out “grass” or plain old dirt.
The layout is fun but the greens are bumpy, bare in spots and its just not fun to play here.
On top of the horrible condition of the course the ranger/marshal crew they have working here are a bunch of crabby rude old farts who ihave zero people skills.
Barking orders, scowling at you if you bother them, not very welcoming at all.
Spend your money and time elsewhere
This place needs to fix all the above issues before I play here again
Az Golf Resort
Prices this time of year are unaffordable for us old retirees for most courses. This course keeps the rate affordable to play once a week.
Tried Again
Well I was hoping it would be better than the previous time but I was disappointed. We arrived 30 minutes before our tee time only to be told they were running an hour behind. Apparently if there is frost on the course, they just make everyone wait. An email would have been nice. Once we were able to tee off, we realized there was going to be a back up all day. It was extremely slow and the course was muddy from over watering in some places and in bad shape in others. I think we are done playing here.
