Golden Hills Golf Club
About
Golden Hills Golf Club (formerly known as Arizona Golf Resort) is home to a golf school and a challenging 18-hole course. The golf course is known for its difficult and scenic par-3 holes. It is has a traditional layout that features large, subtly sloped greens that are guarded by bunkers. Stately cottonwood and eucalyptus trees line the generous fairways. Lakes form water hazards that come into play on five holes and there is also native rough throughout the course. With four sets of tee boxes, the course offers a suitable challenge for players of all skill levels. In addition to the course and the school, the Golden Hills Golf Club has a putting green and chipping area as well.

When you own/run a golf course ya gotta hire people that are smart enough to grow grass. Same crap as in the past. Way way too many bare dirt spots.
The Course is in good shape.
I have played this course on and off for 15 years. I think it’s in good shape except for number 12 It seems like there’s always water laying in the center of the fairway on this hole. Other than that, we had a good time finished in four hours and played with a nice couple. We booked another tee time for Friday with our two adult children. Good job Arizona Golf Resort.
League Tune-up
Played here because many other courses were doing over seed and not open. AGR had just re-seeded, and the course was pretty soggy. Cart path only which made play a little slower than normal. Greens were in great shape on most holes. Staff friendly and helpful. This is the best value right now; my group has played this course often during this time period in the past.
Course was in pretty good shape considering they just finished overseeding. Bunkers and greens were in good shape
Bad
Cheapest course currently for a reason. Course and greens were in terrible shape. Completely uneven throughout and its was cart part only for what reason??
Needs some time
Overseeding time in Arizona to change to winter grass. Some areas not grown in yet and greens were very slow as not cut really close yet. Hopefully will improve in a few weeks.
course needs work
This course is not in good shape. I know that we are in shoulder/seeding season but it is not fun to play with bald dirt patches throughout the course - on most holes.
I understand that it is "cart path" only season but there is no support for disabilities (a flag allowing judicious use) so that some elderly folk can still play when they have a bad hip/knee and cannot walk great distances.
I understand that this course was really nice in the past and hope that it can be improved. It was not value for money on this occasion.
AGR (Golden Hills)
I wish I could write a really good review but there were a few things that weren’t ideal. Our tee time was scheduled for 9:04 and we didn’t tee off until about 9:30 which prolonged our game. The reason we didn’t tee off at the proper time was because we were waiting on a group (which had some of the staff that works there in it) that played the back nine first to play through. Not only that but this was also one of the longest games of golf I’ve played. The pace of play was very slow. On a positive note, the course was in decent shape and the staff was nice.
Disappointed
At the end of 18 holes we discovered our vehicle was either towed or stolen. The friendly warm staff at the beginning of the course were lovely in every way. However after discovering our missing SUV, the staff then were very dismissive and not helpful other than to say they have a parking cone that signifies vendor only parking.
This was shocking as we were confused and left out in the dark to find out the information on who towed it and why. A young parking lot attendant then told us a cone was placed by herself but unable to defend such poor signage that really didn’t indicate a tow zone.
Hence a fun day of golf turned into a stressful experience leading us to all avoid this golf course for future visits.
Not a good way to treat your Golf Patrons AGR!
