Golden Hills Golf Club

I’ve been a resident of Mesa since 1995. AZ Golf Resort used to be quite a gem in the East Valley. Wow, what a difference a few decades make. I realize the ownership has changed several times over the years, and I’m not sure who owns it now, but it’s really in sad shape. Dried out fairways when we haven’t even had really hot weather yet is just… sad. The decline has been steady over the last several years, but I wasn’t expecting it to be this bad. The staff is still friendly enough, so it’s not a total loss, but conditions were well below what should be expected at the end of May in AZ.

Course lacked grass in the fairway, felt like it had not been watered in months

Course lacked tee time coordination and ranger!!

There were a couple of single players ahead of us which slowed the pace to almost 5 hours!!! Waited at every tee as the second in line!!!

The club house should have buddied up players to make at least twosomes!!

course is in terrible shape. not worth the money very disappointed

The course is in horrible condition. The only grass you will see is on the greens. Booked because we were visiting family nearby. What a mistake! We payed for 18 and only played 9, due to the terrible conditions and surroundings.

I’ve played this course a few months back and it was in good condition. Came back to play it again today and this is terrible. Fairways are dirt, rough is burnt grass. DO NOT PLAY RIGHT NOW!! Tee boxes and greens are the only reason this course is worth 2 stars.

I have played this course many a times over the past 5 years. I continue to hope that it will improve but over the last couple of years it continues to decline. The course is now just going downhill and conditions are pretty much unplayable I would not even play this course for free again

Liked most of my experience but must state I was Bothered by all the Warning signs about Parking and warnings of possibility of Car being Towed. Not sure what issue is but may not return? Best regards

It was almost impossible to find grass on the fairway. It was like playing in a asphalt parking lot. Then you walk into the clubhouse and no air conditioner (REALLY IN ARIZONA). We should get a total refund but that won’t happen so I will never play there again

The green's were in very good shape. Golfers should know to repair their ball marks( there were numerous on each green ). Only 2 of the 18 holes tee boxes were in good condition.

The fairways were really poor. More bare hard dirt than grass. I hope this is fixed before long.

The bunkers looked to be in great condition.

It would have been nice to know the greens were aerated prior to booking and playing. All that being said, A day at the golf course can't be bad.

The course has really gone downhill. I would not recommend this course probably the worst course in Arizona right now.

Course was aerated recently. Many fairways had areas of little to no grass. Greens were nice. Played here many times but have never seen the course in this condition at this time of the year. Areas where there was grass looked fine.
