About
Golden Hills Golf Club (formerly known as Arizona Golf Resort) is home to a golf school and a challenging 18-hole course. The golf course is known for its difficult and scenic par-3 holes. It is has a traditional layout that features large, subtly sloped greens that are guarded by bunkers. Stately cottonwood and eucalyptus trees line the generous fairways. Lakes form water hazards that come into play on five holes and there is also native rough throughout the course. With four sets of tee boxes, the course offers a suitable challenge for players of all skill levels. In addition to the course and the school, the Golden Hills Golf Club has a putting green and chipping area as well.

Easy layout. Greens were not great. We enjoyed the course
Slow, bare fairways
Many fairways had large patches of dirt. Course was not well marshaled on the first day, better on the second. Tee times of every 7 minutes are way too tight for this course. Friendly staff.

Waist of Money
Course fairways were in terrible condition,
Bare spots and large portions of the course had bare spots weeds all over. Greens were in good shape but pin placements were all on ridges.
We played with two golfers from out of town who said they would give this "resort" course a 2 out of 10 rating,.
DO NOT GO
Worst course, over booked and a money grab. 3 different grounds on one tee box at one point and you have to wait 40 minutes for a cart passed your tee time with zero accommodations

No one paid any attention to the pace of play. Nearly a five hour round. Where there might have been desert there were mostly weeds making it hard to find your ball. Lastly the drainage system was horrible leaving the course very difficult to play. Inexpensive for a reason.

Don’t waist your time
Fairway were 30% dirt. Lots of weed and bare spots. Green we’re good but pins were all on ridges 5 hour round

Save you money
The course is in horrible condition-weeds everywhere, fairways with wet spots and hardpan everywhere, dead trees on the course, etc. Most homes around the course were in bad shape, needing a lot of maintenance-back yards filled with junk, not kept up, full of weeds, you get the picture. Cannot see how they can charge this much for a course in this condition.

AZ Golf Resort much imporved
I have played this course for years.
The course conditions are about as good as they have been in the last 6 years!!
The grounds crew has been busy and it shows.
The greens ran true and fast.
The bunkers had new sand and they played like Bandon Oregon.
They have removed a number of dead trees and planted new ones that will make the course a challenge.

Needs much TLC
The layout is interesting, but the conditions are horrible.
Weeds and bare spots are more prevalent than grass.

Great staff but not worth the money
In my opinion the only thing good about this place was the staff. Very friendly, helpful, and fun! However I don't think this place is worth over $100 to play right now. It was very rough and there was a lot of dirt. Fairways were rough and the greens were a little uneven. The warm up holes aren't very well kept and not much room to chip. I would of rather saved money and played elsewhere. Glad I gave it a try but I unfortunately wouldn't go back anytime soon.

Insanely over priced
Course was way to over priced. Course layout was not bad, but the conditions were extremely poor. My friends and I said we got “catfished” by a golf course

Bad Greens and RR out of order
First and last time playing here. The greens were pitted, and one of the RR on the course was out of order.

Not worth the time it took to play this course.
This used to be a great resort and a pleasure to play. Since it became a motel it's gone drastically down hill. I won't waste anymore of my money to play it again. I was embarrassed as I had three guests with me and I had told them it was a good track.
Great Day With Friends
Outside staff was cordial, inside staff friendly. On the driving range you can only hit no further than 225 yards.
Front nine of the course was an improvement from about 1 1/2 month ago, greens still need attention.
Back nine of the course was terrible, for some odd reason they were plugging the fairways (WHY????), hope they put some seed into the plug holes to get the fairways to starting looking better.
Greens on the front nine wasn't too bad but sure needs some attention. Use the small tine machine and re-plant seed, put light sand over it and water, water, water.

Hole #18 is totally unacceptable, the top 2/3rds is nothing but dirt. Rope off half of the green and Again use the small tine machine and re-plant seed, put light sand over it and water, water, water.
I know that this course is one of the older courses around but it use to be 'super.'
My opinion that they should only be getting about $40.00 to play weekdays and maybe $50.00 on the weekends. My entire group hesitated to book this course but we didn't want to pay an arm & let to play golf.
This is one of those courses that you'd have to find out for yourself, therefore, in my opinion I would not recommend it until it perks up - sorry again my opinion.
