The golf course at Red Mountain Ranch & Country Club is a beautifully designed layout set against a desert landscape with rock formations, mesquite trees, and cacti. Pete and Perry Dye designed the course, combining both beauty and challenge. This championship course was built on rolling terrain and has large, sharply contoured greens and extensive mounding that is reinforced with railroad ties. There are not only deep sand bunkers but also grass bunkers protecting the greens. There are also four ponds on the course at Red Mountain Ranch & Country Club, but only three create water hazards that come into play on four holes. A notable hole on the course in which water comes into play is the sixth, a hole that has a peninsula green with water surrounding it along three sides.

GN Reservation listed as Guest not by name

Hot deal did not register correctly with the starters computer he had a hard time finding my reservation and insisted he see my confirmation. I ASKED WHAT GOOD DOES THAT DO WHEN YOU CANNOT FIND MY TEE TIME. IT TOOK HIM 10 MINUTES, We did not have time to hit range ball only practice putting, then pleaded with the starter he would let us go out early there was no one around, after 5 minutes on the putting green he called us over realized he made a mistake. Only gave this a 3 ☆ traps were stony

Great course! Slow pace

Course in really great condition! If you keep it in the fairway... Other wise your hitting off rocks. Some bunkers are gravel filled as well... Pretty rough on your clubs. The fairways, greens and tee boxes are in good shape. Pace if play was pretty slow. Took 2.5 hrs to play the front 9. We teed off at 2:17 and had to quit on 16 because it was to dark.

Enjoy the day

Very playable and wonderful challenges on each hole. Better scoring is possible if you became familiar with the layout. I would recommend having range finder or good app as carts don’t have GPS.

Pete Dye course demands much from your short game and the many bunkers I played were tricky or position impossible to play. However the sand traps were consistent and in great condition to give you the best chance to succeed.

I really enjoyed the day and would love to play it again.

See the approach shot demand on hole 18!

Several times during the day I laughed and said “Thanks Pete”.

Good Course Great Views

I didn't play well but the day and the course weren't to blame. The day was beautiful and we got 18 in teeing at 1:13 for a reasonable price this time of year. Will play again next month and try to play better.

Very Fun!

Not sure what the complaints on here are for. Course was in great shape! People were very friendly. We went off early as a twosome so it only took us about 3 1/2 hours. We played from the whites, which was probably too short. We’ll back It up next time to have some more mid irons in hand. The price was very reasonable, especially this time of year.

Pace was terrible

Teed off at 1 pm which should be plenty of time to get 18 in before dark but had to eventually skip a group and hole because we were 30 minutes behind pace. Greens were in rough shape for this time of year. Very slow. I enjoy the layout and views of this course, but no round is fun when you pull up to every tee box with two groups of carts still visible. A Marshall did come around once saying to make sure we keep up cuz he talked to a slow group ahead but never saw him again and the pace never changed. They need to move groups up holes if they’re gonna ruin the experience.

Really enjoyed this course

Pete Dye layout which if you know can be a challenge. Course definitely makes you think about what club to use. Was in good condition. Thoroughly enjoyed playing this course and it was my first time.

Not worth the money

This course has a great deal of potential? Beautiful layout however, the pace of play was extremely slow. There were numerous single players on the course and no ranger present to manage the flow. Additionally, many of the boxes were not numbered, which caused some confusion. Some areas of the course have also seen better days and would benefit from additional maintenance and manicuring.

I originally had a 12:57 tee time but called to move it to 1:37. Upon arrival, I stood in line for more than 10 minutes while staff assisted another guest with setting up an email account, which delayed my start until nearly 2:00 p.m. Despite the later tee time, I was still charged the 12:57 rate of $79, even though the 1:37 rate was $59.
