Superstition Springs Golf Club
About
The East Valley's Superstition Springs Golf Club offers one of Arizona's most testing layouts, measuring over 7,000 yards, with a slope rating of 130. Golf course architect Greg H. Nash designed the course and worked with the landscape already in place to provide the abundant mounding, wide bunkers and good-looking but tough-playing water features.
By the time he had finished with the Superstition Springs Golf Club, Nash had created a golf course that Golfweek called one of America's Best Golf Courses.
After - or before - a round of golf at the Superstition Springs Golf Club, hit up the restaurant for breakfast, lunch or drinks either inside or on the patio, which overlooks the golf course's signature hole, the ninth.

Had a great time
Great course. A little rough at the time due to the weather and right before reseeding.
Over priced for what you get
I especially don't like the fact you take my money when I make my tee time. The course looks great from the outside but when you get out there you realize it's mediocre at best.not worth the money. Just like Kokopeli disappointing
Thank you for your feedback. I’m sorry we missed the mark on communicating our preparation for overseed, which affects conditions leading up to overseed closure. We strive to offer a great experience, and we’ll work on better transparency. Appreciate your input and hope to see you back soon.
Off season
Course was in complete shut down mode . Should not have been open for play
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback regarding your recent experience at our course. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience you encountered during your visit.
Please understand that we are currently preparing for our overseeding process, which can temporarily impact course conditions. In the week leading up to overseeding, we focused on making the conditions firm and fast to enhance playability. However, we understand that this may not have met your expectations. I am so sorry that these course conditions were not communicated prior to your visit.
We appreciate your understanding as we work to maintain our course for the upcoming season. Your feedback is invaluable, and we hope you’ll give us another chance to provide you with a better experience in the future. If you wouldn't mind emailing me personally at abeaverson@arcisgolf.com as I would love to welcome you back post-overseed at no cost when you can experience our course in a much more acceptable condition.
Best regards, and I look forward to hearing from you!
Needs work
Fairways dying out, normal for AZ in sep. Greens suffering also but still good. Bunkers need sand, but this course features many grass bunkers and mounds and hollows which are very challenging. Staff, carts, range and all else were very good.
Thanks for your detailed feedback! We appreciate your insights on the course conditions and are glad to hear you enjoyed the staff and facilities. We're committed to improving the course and will take your comments into account. Looking forward to your next visit!
Course dry, but that's expected.
Course conditions were dry, greens were getting ready for overseed
Thanks for the feedback, dronne1! We appreciate your observation about the course conditions. Our team is working hard to prepare the course for overseeding, ensuring the best experience for our players for the next 7 Months. We hope to see you back out on the course soon!
Partial to zero play
Part golf now problem. Pd ahead nearly $50 per player. I got sick so couldn't cont after 1st hole. 17 yr old bd boy grandson strained rt elbow on front nine. So couldn't cont. Club house said they couldn't offer rain chk with golf now involved. Reported to golf now. No word back from them. Never again will pay ahead that way. Screw them both.
Good Afternoon Bob, Thank you for your feedback! We are unable to track down the details of your tee time and would like to continue the conversation to provide support. Please reach out to our leadership team at kjones@arcisgolf.com for support!
$60 is absolute joke for course under repair
I've lived within a couple miles of this course for nearly 10 years and trusted my instincts not to play here...got invited to join and did it for the camaraderie and not to be difficult, but it was an absolute joke. There is zero mention on their website or social media of all the maintenance issues on the course. Several holes with tee boxes that are completely under repair, so they use temporary tee boxes. One of the greens had GIR flags on the green within 10 feet of the hole location. All the bunkers were a disaster, we just played them as GIR and took relief out of them. It's a goofy target golf layout with many holes requiring less than driver off the tee and there are no layout signs on the hole, no GPS in cart, and no hole layouts on the scorecard. The greens were also slow and bumpy, which honestly, if the course is not in great shape but the greens rolled well I wouldn't say anything, but that was definitely not the case. Their website says "private club experience open to the public" and if that's how they're labeling it they would be by far the worst private club in the world. Charging $60 for this is an absolute joke and I will never be back, nor will I ever recommend anyone to go there. Like I said, I trusted my instincts not to book a time there for nearly 10 years and I was right. Full disclosure I'm a roughly 2 handicap and have played public golf courses around the world...this is the first review I've written...and I've played some terrible courses. If the green fees were $30 I wouldn't be writing this, but to have this much maintenance on the course, not have any mention of it, and charge $60 for it is embarrassing. The staff was friendly, but it is unacceptable to not make mention of that many temporary tee boxes and issues on the course...they are actively trying to hide what they know is an inferior product. If you pay $60 for this and think it's a good golf experience then I feel bad for your standards of golf. Plenty of other options in Arizona that are better experiences and way better value. Good for them if this course was something nice 2 decades ago, it's now a dog track I wouldn't take my own dogs to now.

This place is in bad shape tee to green. Plenty of other options that are more fun and in better shape.

Great value
First time playing at this course, staff was very friendly. We played the back 9 & dine. The course was in great condition, a lot better than other courses in the area. The 9 & dine is a great value, meal was good and course was great! We will definitely be back to play 18.
Hi Kbehrens23, thank you for your positive review! We are thrilled to hear that you enjoyed your experience at our course, especially the Back 9 and Breakfast option. We take pride in providing great service, and we look forward to welcoming you back soon!
PACE of Play - Course Conditions
Staff is incredibly helpful and friendly.
I always feel welcomed when arriving and checking in at the clubhousew, the range and the on course refreshments. .....
The range hitting area was hammered from prior use.... Course conditions - although the fairways were mostly green, there were random bare patches in many fairways.
And the bunkers are "under repair" ......
In some areas, we were loosing balls in rough. It's been a hot and brutal summer for most vegitation and it's taken a beating. ... gotta cut them some slack.
Usually this course is in great shape ... there's no doubt they'll have the course in pristine conditions for Fall and Winter play.
Pace of play today? ... not so good. There were 4 groups backed up on 13 .... with 1 or more groups waiting their turn on 14, 15 and 16 .... Some folks were having a rough day ..... we were going to call it a day , so we headed out for the club house ... we found wide open on 17 and 18 ...
Looking forward to the grounds crew getting the course back in shape.
Hi Chipper, thank you for sharing your feedback with us. We're glad to hear you enjoyed the hospitality of our staff. We appreciate your understanding of the course conditions and are actively working to address the issues you mentioned. We look forward to having you back to see the improvements soon!
Hidden gem
The course was in great shape for mid summer. Staff was friendly and the course was challenging for the weekend golfer. Had a great time and shot under 90.
Thank you for taking the time to share your positive experience with us! We're delighted to hear that you enjoyed the course conditions and found it challenging. Shooting under 90 is quite an accomplishment! We look forward to welcoming you back again soon.
why do I play this game
I will keep it as short as possible.
~so it had been over 20 years since I've played superstition springs, it has been one of my most favorite courses that I've played in AZ and it still is dispite of the recent reviews I've read and the course conditions. Inna nutshell the course isn't in great condition or for that matter bad condition either,l. I found the greens to be in good shape, mind you the course is fairly large and it is summer. Staying and playing off the fairway is where u wanna be anything left or right of it is asking for troubles and bad playing conditions. Bottom line is the price is right for summer play. Staff are so friendly and helpful. I really love the practice areas and driving range.
Hey there! Thank you for sharing your recent experience at Superstition Springs. We appreciate your feedback on the course conditions and are glad to hear you enjoyed the greens and practice areas. We strive to provide a positive experience and look forward to welcoming you back soon!
Staff was awesome
Staff was awesome! Water had malfunctioned the week before and staff explained everything and apologized for the condition of the course. It was pretty bad but not the worst I’ve ever played at. However, we were behind a foursome of younger kids who drug the first 9 holes out over at least 3 hours. It was hot and we would lose any momentum we had on waits between holes.
I don’t think we would have minded so much but going into the 4th hour, the beverage cart was done and no water in any cooler on the course. We finally gave up and left after hole 14. It was sad because we were playing decent but just couldn’t do it any more.
We did get a bounce back voucher to return because of the course condition which probably made the decision to abandon efforts easier. We will be back and hopefully have a better experience as we do see the potential of this course.
I wouldn’t tell you not to play it but if you are looking for that pristine z Arizona experience, you may be disappointed.
Hi Chris, thank you for sharing your experience with us. We appreciate your feedback and apologize for the delays and lack of amenities during your round. We're glad to hear you received a bounce back voucher and hope you'll give us another chance to provide a better experience.
Just ok
The course was in poor condition which is a shame because the corse layout itself is good.
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience! Please know that your feedback is important to us and the team continues to tackle the areas impactive guest experience. We hope you have a wonderful week!
