Superstition Springs Golf Club
About
The East Valley's Superstition Springs Golf Club offers one of Arizona's most testing layouts, measuring over 7,000 yards, with a slope rating of 130. Golf course architect Greg H. Nash designed the course and worked with the landscape already in place to provide the abundant mounding, wide bunkers and good-looking but tough-playing water features.
By the time he had finished with the Superstition Springs Golf Club, Nash had created a golf course that Golfweek called one of America's Best Golf Courses.
After - or before - a round of golf at the Superstition Springs Golf Club, hit up the restaurant for breakfast, lunch or drinks either inside or on the patio, which overlooks the golf course's signature hole, the ninth.

Meh
Let me start by saying, I realize it’s the summer and playing conditions are not always gonna be the best considering the heat. However, when I booked the teetime. I was not told that the back nine would be closed and in order to get 18 holes in, I had to play the front line twice. That was disappointing to say the least. There was a bunch of hackers on the course which I guess is expected for discounted prices during the summer. The best part was the par 5 8th hole that has a lake on your right hand side. It could come into play on your approach shot. I hit my iron that drifted right and could have possibly went in the water and as I approached, there were two guys fishing the lake and gave me attitude because I almost hit them. I threw attitude right back and said-how am I supposed to know you’d be here? Good times
Great course
Course was in pretty good shape for current heat conditions. I'd play again.
Hello - Thank you and we look forward to seeing you again in the future.
Rough greens
Greens were in terrible condition. I assume that they're about to be reconditioned? There was no true roll.
Thank you for your feedback about the greens. You’re correct that our greens are scheduled for aeration on Monday, July 7th, as part of our regular maintenance to improve their health and playability. This process should help restore a true roll and better overall conditions. We hope you’ll give us another chance to provide a great golfing experience after the aeration is complete!
Conditions
Course is in horrible shape compared to years before.

Horrible course.
Once the snow birds left this course is terrible. Can’t believe they want $50 bucks. The superintendent and greenskeeper should be fired! Absolutely a disgrace. At the most I’d pay $25 bucks.
Thank you for your feedback. We’re sorry to hear about your disappointment with the course conditions. We’ve recently brought on a new superintendent who, along with our dedicated greenskeeping team, is working tirelessly to elevate the course to the high standards our players expect. Improvements are already underway, with a focus on enhancing the fairways, greens, and overall experience. We truly value your input and are committed to making every round enjoyable. We hope you’ll notice the positive changes on your next visit and appreciate your patience as we continue to enhance the course.
Hello - we don't understand what you mean by "Got Track". perhaps you wanted to say Goat track. We are working on improving the course conditions. How was my staff? Did you have any F&B? We hope you will give us another go in the future.
thank you - Glad you had a good time! See you on the course soon. SSGC
Terrible
Paying $80 for a round in AZ in the middle of summer usually means it’s a decent course. This place was in terrible shape. Fairways completely dead. Greens were incredibly slow and there was no point in aiming putts with how uneven the putting surfaces were.
Hello ar8ton95,
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We're genuinely sorry to hear that your experience did not meet expectations. Summer conditions in Arizona can be extremely challenging for turf maintenance, especially during transitions or when extreme heat hits earlier than anticipated. That said, your comments about the fairways and greens are concerning, and we take them seriously.
Our team is currently working hard to address course conditions, and we appreciate your patience as we make improvements. We strive to provide value at every price point and regret that we fell short during your visit. If you’d be open to it, we’d love the opportunity to speak with you directly and hopefully invite you back for a better experience.
Thank you again for the honest review—feedback like yours helps us do better.
Warm regards,
Harvey Volentine, PGA

Fun course
Greens were rough but expected this time of year. No map on card or placards so was blind. First time was still enjoyable
Hello, thank you for taking the time to provide feedback. Yes we are waiting for the bermuda to really pop...once it does things will be much better. Hope to see you again in the future.
hello, Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback. We do care!! What could we have don't to bump it up a star or two? SSGC
Great Layout, Great Value; Poor Conditions
The course has a great layout with a lot of potential. Unfortunately, the hot summer weather made the fairways conditions inconsistent and the greens bumpy. However, for $37 it is a good value. We played at 12:30 PM and there was hardly anyone on the course and we finished in 2 3/4 hours.
hello - Yes we are in the transition from winter to summer...the bermuda is being a bit slow. Hope to see you again in the future.
Hello - we are working on the course conditions. Any other feedback would be helpful. We hope you will give us a go again in the future.
Course is not the same
Can’t believe how bad this course has become from a year ago
Hello JDLOVRO,
Not sure when you played "last year"...We are in our transition to full bermuda from the winter. Once we get higher temps the bermuda should pop! But yes we clearly have had some issues with course conditions, we are working hard to get the course back! We hope you will give it another go in the future.
Bunkers were hard, not raked. Had paired with couple new to golf playing from 1 bag.
Hello - Thank you for the feedback. Yes the bunkers need some TLC...In fact we are in the process of adding sand to them. Sorry we missed the folks playing out of one bag - our policy is that every player needs their own set. thank you again and we hope to see you soon.
Hello u314160477800,
Thank you for your feedback about Superstition Springs Golf Club. We truly value your input and are sorry to hear about your experience. We’re aware that our course is currently transitioning to summer grass, a process that can temporarily affect conditions, especially around this time in Phoenix (May 31). We’re working diligently to ensure the course returns to top shape. We hope you’ll give us another chance in August or this winter when conditions are optimal. Thank you again for your feedback and support!
Nine hole special
Went for the morning nine hole special..
Early to beat the heat.
Staff is extremely friendly. Piece of play good as only a handful of tee times going off the backside. Course was not in great shape.
Really enjoyed the included breakfast.
Summer go to
Thank you for taking the time to provide some feedback. We will pass the + feedback to the staff & F&B. improving the course conditions is what we are working on. Summer grass is coming in. We look forward to seeing you again.
Thank you! We are working hard to improve the course conditions. See you again soon.
Bam! Thank you. We hope to see you again soon.
What happened?
Oh wow… they have given up. It’s like they have a golf course but don’t want to have a golf course … maybe they are waiting for the city to condemn it or sell it off to build another strip mall. Whatever it is - they don’t want people ever coming back to play golf. This was terrible…. Quit after 13 holes and called it a day. Horrendous shape…I’d rather not play than to ever be here again.
Thank you for your feedback about your recent experience at Superstition Springs Golf Club. We’re truly sorry to hear that your visit didn’t meet your expectations, and we appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts. We’re currently in the transition period from winter to summer, a time when our course shifts from ryegrass to Bermuda grass to adapt to Phoenix’s rising temperatures. This process can result in temporary challenges like patchy fairways and slower greens as the warm-season grass takes hold. While this is a natural part of maintaining a desert course, we acknowledge that our course needs significant work to meet the standards you deserve.
We’re fully committed to improving the conditions at Superstition Springs and are actively working on enhancing the course to ensure a better experience as we move into the summer season. We hope you’ll consider giving us another chance in the future to show you the improvements we’re dedicated to making.
