Superstition Springs Golf Club

About
The East Valley's Superstition Springs Golf Club offers one of Arizona's most testing layouts, measuring over 7,000 yards, with a slope rating of 130. Golf course architect Greg H. Nash designed the course and worked with the landscape already in place to provide the abundant mounding, wide bunkers and good-looking but tough-playing water features.
By the time he had finished with the Superstition Springs Golf Club, Nash had created a golf course that Golfweek called one of America's Best Golf Courses.
After - or before - a round of golf at the Superstition Springs Golf Club, hit up the restaurant for breakfast, lunch or drinks either inside or on the patio, which overlooks the golf course's signature hole, the ninth.

This course is a cow pasture
I would never play this course again and one of the worst conditioned course I've ever played in 30
Years
Challenging course
Lots of bunkers and some water holes. Really nice golf course

Waltet, thanks for the fantastic review! We're thrilled you enjoyed the variety.. It's always great to hear our golf course is hitting the mark. We look forward to welcoming you back for more rounds!
Enjoyable Round
My partner and I were first off the tee after a frost delay finishing our 9 holes in just over 90 minutes. It had been a couple of years since I played the course, and found that I enjoyed returning to the course very much. It presents challenges, but is fair.

Thanks for sharing your experience! We're glad you and your partner had a great round and enjoyed the challenges the course offers. We appreciate your feedback and look forward to seeing you back on the course soon!
Need a marshal badly
We started at 1:00pm after they had caught up from a 45 minute frost delay - pretty good. We never finished 18. There were 2 foursomes in front of us. Both were incredibly slow. The foursome in front of us had 4 older men who could barely walk. Waited at every single tee box. Ridiculous.

Thanks for your feedback, fgray. We're glad to hear you enjoyed your time overall, but we apologize for the delays you experienced. We’re always looking for ways to improve pace of play and appreciate your insights. Your experience helps us enhance the day for all our guests.
Frost delay...crap pace
This course never fails to disappoint for me. Between the pace of play being consistently bad (I've never played in less than 4hrs 45min), dry spots everywhere, the smell that never seems to go away. I'm just not a fan. Granted, today there was a 40min frost delay. Saw a ranger, no change. Quit after 17 due to dark but we teed off on 17 at the 4hr 45min mark.
Brightest point is always the staff. Nicest crew ever. Absolutely a fun crew.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. The team is sorry to hear that the pace of play and course conditions did not meet expectations but truly appreciates the kind words about the staff. Comments like these are shared with the team, and it means a lot to know they made a positive impact.
The team is committed to continuous improvement, and feedback like this is invaluable in guiding those efforts. They hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back for a more enjoyable experience in the future.
Superstition Springs Course
Interesting and challenging course. Definitely helps to be a long ball hitter although sometimes that didn’t pay off. Seems like the course has been shorted on water from the looks of their former water features but the fairways and greens were in good condition. Definitely worth a play and the drink cart stayed handy😁

We’re glad you found the course both interesting and challenging. We’re always working to improve, and your feedback is appreciated.
We continue to do the rain dance as these features you've mentioned are all designed to be flood basins as the course was built in Maricopa County's Flood District. Water on 8 and 9 is the lone "Lake" on property. Hope to see you back on the greens soon, enjoying the drink cart!
condition
.Played the course often 10 to 15 years ago. Had not played it in 5 years due to pour conditions. Current owners have improved conditions and staff quality. Will recommend course for the $60,,00 price range.

Thanks for the feedback! We're glad to hear you noticed the improvements in course conditions and staff quality. We appreciate your recommendation and hope to see you back on the course soon for more great rounds!
Average course
I got a good rate so that was nice. I think the course is fine in the $50-$75 range, but overpriced above that. Overseed is decent. Greens were inconsistent with some rolling fast and others somewhat slow. Pace of play was 4.5 hrs, which could have been better. When we were on hole 12, we looked across and there were no golfers on holes 16 and 17. So, unless they had a gap in the tee sheet, someone was holding up play.

Thanks for your feedback, Kurt! We're glad you enjoyed the rate and appreciate your insights on the course conditions and pace of play. We’re continuously working to improve and will take your comments into account. Hope to see you back on the course soon!
Sewage smell and rough greens
Shaggy greens and a sewage smell...
If you love the smell of raw sewage, this is the course for you. Directly adjacent to the sewage treatment plant you will be assaulted with its smell on multiple holes. To add to that enjoyment, you will be treated with pock marked, shaggy, slow greens. Don't forget it's cart path only for the first hour of the round, but better not let that slow you down, because even if you don't have anyone behind you waiting as you tee off, the Marshall will be sure to tell you to "hurry up. There's 200 golfers behind you today." This was the least enjoyable golf experience I've ever had. I can't believe anyone would actually golf here a second time. This was my experience on 12/30/24.
Rangerless
My husband, daughter and me could only finish 15 holes dure to the threesome of guys were so drunk and stoned. They left clubs, hat, balls. The guys fell out of cart and one driver went over abutment and fell out. Happened at least three times. Fell on the green. It was just way too slow.
No rangers. These 3 guys should have been removed from the course. They were a whole hole behind the rest of the group. The one guy as we passed them to get to clubhouse, fell on cart path, tried to get up and fell again rolling on cart path. Hope none of them drove home.
We will never play this course again because no rangers and for the price could barely finish hole 15.
Rangerless
We teed off at 132 behind a group of guys. The threesome of guys were so drunk and stoned were falling out of carts, losing club, ball, hat. They were so far behind the rest of the group held us up and people behind us. For what we paid, it took us 3 hours to plsy 9 and other 9 2.5 hours for only 6 holes.. did not finish three holes due to darkness and the drunk/stoned guys in frontier us. There should have been raangers out there moving those three guys or remove from course because they could not stand up, falling out of carts, etc. Will never play this course again. Too bad the course is so pretty. 5.5 hours to play 15 holes.

Hi kbdflaig, we sincerely apologize for your experience. It’s disappointing to hear about the disruptions during your round. We appreciate your feedback and want you to know that our team takes pace of play seriously. Thank you for sharing your thoughts.

I agree. Played on 2/6/25 and it is in horrible condition. For the money we spent, we should have played somewhere else. I’m sorry that I wasted a day of my vacation on this course. Here’s a suggestion for the course-clean up the trash.
