good course
I always enjoy stonecreek. some different type shots on occasion due to mounding. bunkers were very good. greens were good, but like most courses, some people don't fix ballmarks.
great course - PLEASE fix pace of play
good course, good condition -- pace of play is horrible
Poor pace of play
The pace of play was very frustrating. I can understand we were playing midday on a weekend but a 5+ hour round was tough to take. When speaking with h the cart lady she mentioned this was typical on the weekends so I guess the pace of play was status quo for the course....
I liked the layout and other features but won’t return due to the slow pace of play.
Skip This Place
Ist hole was almost underwater on approach to the green. Super slow pace of play. When we got to the 10th hole, there were 3 groups waiting. There would have been 4 but the group in front of us bailed because it was so slow. The round took 5 hours. We were a threesome; the single playing with us bailed after 15 because it was so slow. We should have skipped this course especially for the 65 bucks we paid. If you have an inkling to play this course, don't.
I have always liked this course. I enjoy the course layout as well as its condition. The only negative is pace of play. It is almost like a resort therefore a lot of play is booked on it. No course ranger exists to help speed play up.
Expensive for Slow Play and Average Shape
A five hour plus round starting just after 8:00am on Thanksgiving Morning. I rated the course in fair condition considering it was just overseeded. The couple we played with said it was in the worst shape of any course they have played (while here on vacation).
No marshals and the driving range was on matts to a dirt field.
The only positives: the cart girl came around 2-3 times per nine and I shot a 75.
Overall Stonecreek needs a lot of work and better management to get itself equal to an average city course.
Great experience, great value!
I got a 3:40 tee time for $10. Pace of play was slow but still a good value. Very friendly staff.
Busy perimeter
Too many people on paths with dogs, bikes and children. Very irritating. Some on fairway too.
Slow on back 9, did not get to finish my round.
Really fun layout. Course conditions were in great shape after being overseeded. The greens were a little fury but should be fine in a few weeks. Definitely will be back again to play.
new grass, cart path only...slow play
I would like to see the course put in 150 and 100 yard marker poles...was a bummer to be cart path only and not be able to get accurate yardage without walking with 4-5 clubs in hand. Pace of the front 9 was great but it was very slow on the back 9.
Good value, but cart path only
Great layout,, but due to over seeding it was cart path only!! Made the round longer than it needed to be!!!
Classic Pete Dye. Miss the green and the recovery shot is difficult
Only played because I had a $20 reward for being a returning golf now VIP. Only one of two courses that I could use the reward on. Funny how Golfnow gives new members a box of Taylormade TP5 golf balls and only gives returning members two $20 rewards which can only be used after 2:00. In the entire Phoenix area there are only 2 hot deal golf courses with tee times after 2:00 and one is an hour from my house. Not really much of a reward from Golfnow. Would have much preferred the golf balls.
The course is fairly narrow and getting ready for winter overseeding next week so condition was less than perfect. Once it is overseeded might be worth playing.
