Arizona Biltmore Golf Club - Links Course

About
The Links at Arizona Biltmore Golf Club is the "younger" of two golf courses on the Biltmore property, and offers intelligence and innovation, with little room for impatience, on a much-feted design that fast gained reverence from both local and visiting golfers. The golf course features fairways that wind amidst lush pine trees and some of Phoenix's showier houses, greens so bunkered that precision is the minimum to shoot for, and contoured greens that roll as they come. Put the ball where it belongs, and it'll show up on the scorecard; put the ball where it doesn't, and that will show up, too.
After your round on the Links at Arizona Biltmore Golf Club, head in for one of several dining options, from Southwestern to French to Asian to fusion dishes, as well as snacks and high tea post-tee.

One of two great courses at the Biltmore...play them both.
There are two courses at the Biltmore and this is the newer of the two. But this is not a power hitter, long, modern course, It is a thinking course and as a 16-handicap, a course I aim and pray hoping to pull it off. Generous fairways allow for some misses and great greens allow you the chance to at least make some putts to save a round. The greens were fast and it was a very hot day so I am not sure they were cut the day I played. I can imagine how fast they could get.
Play both course on this fine resort. You will be grateful.
Links course- first time playing here
We were very impressed with the course. We found it challenging but fun to play. Our party had a great time and we also ate at the restaurant after we finished playing. The onlly negative is that we encountered one of your staff taking at least 3 of our balls on hole14. We noticed one of your staff in a cart hovering near a fence waiting for us to pass him but he was near the area where three of our balls landed. After he left we noticed our balls were missing. We had just finished teeing off and we searched for the balls near where the staff was parked with his cart. Three of our balls were never found. It was very disappointing and frankly messed up. We called the golf shop to complain but they brushed if off by saying they will look into it. Otherwise, we liked this course and we plan to play here again in the future.

Horrible pace of play
Horrible pace of play! 5 hours and 20 minutes for 15 holes and couldn’t do another 1 hour so we just got off the course. It took 1 hour and 10 minutes to play holes on 12 and 13. Absolutely the worst experience! Our tee time was at 9:00… poorly managed
Oh the rough!!
Everything was in great shape and the bunkers were perfect.
Historically you could find your ball if it just missed the fairway and dribbled into the rough but not today.
Between my partner and I we lost 6 balls (2 on 9, 2 on 10 and 2 on 17) just barely off the fairway.
Groundskeepers are a dance
Great value, good conditions, great pace! If the groundskeepers would go against the player flow, it would be fine. However, I had to deal with mowing machines for 4 of the front nine before I was able to out-race them. Totally distracting and obtrusive. They should go against the flow so they only intersect at 1 hole I was racing and waiting on them for 3 on the front nine and a couple on the back. Knock it off! I’m waiving them through on multiple holes and trying to avoid their massive machines far too many homes. Head groundskeeper need to figure this simple factor out.
The Links
Great potential, loved the layout and various elevations. Just a few criticisms, Fairways were ragged and unevenly cut. Most areas had large patches of uneven, long grass, fairways could be better maintained. As for the course service, given the extreme heat, it was basically nonexistent. The Cart Girl pulled up when we approached 17. Maybe just an off day. I would definitely give it another try after reseeded, hoping fairways will be better maintained.
Great courses and amenities but pace of play is terrible.
We played Biltmore 2 weeks in a row. The first week we were a 2 some on the estates in the middle of several 4 somes so we expected to be waiting to a certain extent (did not expect a hour round). This week it was all 4 somes on the links course and the problem was worse. On top of the pace we had a group of 3 behind us using us for target practice. We expressed our sincere apologies for holding them up but explained there really was no way for us to play faster while we were sitting on the tee box of a par 3 with 4 groups. They continued the practice until they finally hit one of us on hole 15. They then backed off and did not get near us for the last 4 holes (again a 5 hour round). This is a great facility with very nice courses but with the pace of play we experienced and seemingly no effort from the rangers to try to improve it we will not go back when we can play any number of courses in 4 hours as it should be.
Course Conditions
We were never told that fairways were punched recently. Fairways were not in good playing condition! Fairways were mainly hard pan, not acceptable. I had friend in from out of town and not given information about fairway conditions.
Great Layout, will get better this summer
Always love coming to the Biltmore courses. This first hard wave of heat pounded it a bit, but I’m sure it’ll bounceback. Greens were slower than normal, but again, it’ll improve.
We’ll be back.
