Something about Encanto just screams ARIZONA and I love it. Very relaxed vibe and good course conditions. Great facilities, Super friendly staff and a great bar. Can't wait to go back and play.
Good value for the $
Played in late May, when many desert course's are drying up due to the intensifying summer heat. There were more than a few spots that were dried out, but there were a fair amount of areas that had held up well, all things considered. Greens were very dry, but a few were in surprisingly good shape. VERY FEW straight putts. Maybe half of the fairways were kinda crispy, the other half were, "ok". No rough to speak of, so you shouldn't lose any balls. Bunkers were mostly dirt, with some sand that wasn't completely dried out, so bunker shots are POSSIBLE, most of the time. I played 1 ball over 18 holes. Staff were VERY friendly. Nice driving range & practice putting greens. I'd play it again.
Lovely day overall
Always enjoy this course. We did have a bit slower round but we were a 2-some following a 3-some. So I honestly don’t have any valid complaints, other than I’d love to see the prices start to come down a bit. It’s getting to be that time of year.
Always Fun
Great track. Course was in excellent shape and pace of play was great. Can’t wait to get back out there.
First time at encanto 18
Had a fun time playing this course. Staff was very friendly and they did a great job starting everyone on time. Pace was pretty good and the course was fun as it was pretty wide fairways and no elevation. Would definitely play again next time I visit Phoenix.
Wide open
I loved this course for how wide open it was, and there was nobody behind or ahead of us. Very relaxed course. Staff was very friendly and helpful. My only complaint is the greens were a bit rough, so putting was challenging.
I will definitely be back.
Okay but not great
Pace of play was good. Course is generally flat and pretty wide open. Couple holes border roadways so have to be careful. Conditions are not great.Greens were running slow and looked like they had been aerated but not properly dressed. Areas adjacent to the greens generally hard packed and inconsistent grass quality making chipping more inconsistent.
Stellar Course.
Enchanting has stepped up. Nice course. Longer holes and pristine greens. Very impressed with the improvements. Worth the price.
Quick greens with thin turf. Fun time.
First time here. Pace was good considering 8 minute tee times. Did hit three bottle necks that slowed down pace. Finished in 4.5 hours. Fairways were the best turf coverage. Tees only had a bit of wear with maintenance on going. The turf coverage on the greens was rather thin, as would be expected from the low height of cut that is chasing green speed around ten on the stimp meter. We did enjoy our round and will return.
Sand traps like stucco
Very nice and forgiving course, almost always had an unobstructed shot from off the fairways. Bunkers were unplayable as a sand bunker. probably 4 or more inches of sand but the top 2 inches is like cured stucco.
It’s a Muni
Layout is traditional for an old municipal course with open fairways, average number of sand traps and greens in good condition. Sand traps in fair condition. Pace of play was good for spring break week. Cost was good for 18 at this time of year.
