The Palmer Course at Wildfire Golf Club is an 18-hole golf course designed by Arnold Palmer and built in 1997. The par-72 golf course measures 7,145 yards from the tournament tees. "I enjoy designing golf courses that celebrate the sheer fun of golf," Palmer said about this course, "and Wildfire is exactly that."

The Bermuda grass Palmer Course at Wildfire Golf Club is one of two championship courses at the club. It features a GPS option that offers golfers detailed mapping of the Faldo and Palmer courses, precise yardages for tee shots and approach shots to the greens, and the chance to order breakfast and lunch from the golf cart. Additional features include communication with the golf shop, a CBS Sportsline ticker with all scores 24 hours a day, and the leader board for tournaments. Its sibling, the Faldo golf course, also features the system.

Wildfire - Palmer Course (Phoenix)

Very nice course, friendly staff. You will want to play this open, but somewhat challenging course if you an average player...10+ handicap...

Can be fantastic value in summer if $40 or under...

Have played both Wildfire courses and will continue as long as price is right and conditions remain favorable.

Consistently Enjoyable Course

Tho it is an hour away, it's still one of favorite course. Staff and amenities are excellent, plus close to other excellent dining opportunities if you want to make a full day of it.

Really fun, but leave your driver in the bag.

This course is a lot of fun to play. The only problem, it is desert target golf and you need to know where to hit the ball because it has a ton of blind shots and dog legs. The Palmer course can be tight in areas as well. I've played here twice and both times, I finished the round wondering why I hit driver. The Palmer course tempts you into taking risks which really penalize you if you don't execute. Being that I'm a 14 handicap, I execute the risky shot maybe 1 out of 4 times. I like courses that the par 5's can be reachable, the Palmer course has those type of holes. It also has par 4's in which you ask your partner "is this a par 5"? My main complaint is last time we played, they punched the greens. This wasn't told to us until the starter was giving us our direction. It made for a horrible round because the greens were so wet and sandy that it was impossible to putt. When I brought it up with the starter he just walked away. I get it, you have to punch the greens. Courses punch the greens at the same time every year. I would have stayed closer to home had I known. Also, lower the price during that week as it makes a huge difference.

This is a fun course and was in fairly good shape. The fairways were a bit wet trying to stay ahead of the heat. The greens looked bad but putter pretty good even though they were a bit slow. Fun course at reasonable prices year around

Very disappointed!

We had played this course a few years ago and enjoyed the time. While the bag drop guys were very nice, and and the pro shop check-in was friendly, we discovered we paid way too much to play this course under the conditions. While we know it's summer and hot in Arizona, the Palmer course should have been in better condition. Many fairway edges were just plain bare with little or no grass. Areas in fairways and around greens were soaked with irrigation water, and we had many mud balls. In 105 degree weather!

Overall, the layout is good, and the course is challenging but the condition was a huge disappointment!!

Course starting to dry out a little in spots but did not affect play. Greens still in great shape despite a couple of very hot weeks. Always a pleasure to play.

Red Hot and Rollin

I have played this course before but not this time of year. I was surprised how fast and in some places dried out the course was. It was not in as good of shape as I thought it would be (not as green). And the greens were quite fast. But I do love the layout and always a fun and challenging course to play.

Challenging but fun

This course was beautiful. For a beginner to intermediate golfer like me it was still a very fun course. Loved the location. It's a beautiful course. We played the Palmer course which I prefer to the Faldo course.

Hot Wildfire

We had an early morning tee time, 6:30 AM. The high that they would be 106 so the teetime was perfect. The staff was friendly and lwe played in three hours and 20 minutes. I would highly recommend the wildfire experience.

Perfect day, perfect course

Couldn't have asked for a better day on the golf course. Got this at a great price with Golf Now Hot Deal. Was a gift to my husband for his birthday. He absolutely loved it. He kept remarking about the condition of the course and how impeccable the fairways and greens were. He scored well and made for a perfect day!

Wildfire Pslmer

Great experience on this nice course. Staff were great. Price was most reasonable for course of this quality. We chose to play this course twice in our 10 day stay in the desert & also played the Faldo course once. No hesitation in recommending. Staff were among the most user friendly we found anywhere.
