Lookout Mountain Golf Club at Pointe Hilton Tapatio Cliffs Resort receives distinctions: Golf Digest placed it among the top 450 U.S. public courses, and it regularly features among Arizona's best 25 golf course. It doesn't hurt that the golf club regularly hosts eye-catching affairs like the Harmon Killebrew Invitational, the Royce Clayton Charity Classic and the Phoenix Suns Scramble. The golf course itself offers lush greens that entwine with the Sonora Desert's terrain, which the golf club says it carefully preserves, and features 18 holes of championship golf in tandem with magnificent scenery and plenty of challenges.

There's a fairly good chance that golfers will catch sight of a quail or coyote out on the Lookout Mountain Golf Club at Pointe Hilton Tapatio Cliffs Resort, and management asks that layers give the critters the right of way. In order to ensure golfers' shots go straight and don't snag in a cactus or chuckwalla, the club offers both individual and group glf lessons. This is also a place to enroll in the Hilton Golf Academy.

That's before the round at the Lookout Mountain Golf Club, though: Afterward, mosey on back to the 19th hole, called the Pointe In Tyme, for the drinkables and eatables.

Expense course for cart path only

Course had cart path only. The price should be reduced for cart path only. They ought have to 90 degree rule for carts this time of year instead of cart path only. Cart path slows play.

Slow play

Had a 2:20 tee time and could only get in 14 holes because it got dark. Very slow play, had multiple groups of 5-6 people in front of us. Very cool golf course with elevation changes but very disappointing something wasn’t done to speed up pace of play.

Love This Course

I always enjoy playing Lookout Mountain. Staff is outstanding. Course was in terrific shape, as usual. Wish it wasn't a 75 minute drive, otherwise I would be here every week!

Overbooked

Crammed between packs of millennial douchebags, including a group behind us that continued to tee-off into our group even after we'd alerted the course marshal (don't know if he bothered to do anything), the pace was too slow to finish in a reasonable time. Finding a cheap weekend rate here might get you what you pay for - a day surrounded by clowns.

Came to a grinding halt

Made it to tee box 11 and everything stopped.

Suddenly it was a 5 hour plus round and I didn't have time for that. Doesn't usually happen here. The beverage cart girl must have been having a bad day. Service with a growl.

Fun course

Love the course and the layout that is offered. From the Tips, its a pretty challenging course and your shots have to be straight. I really enjoyed the course, but the gentleman who checked me in at the pro-shop was very unfriendly. I brought my daughter with me, he he charged me an extra fee to have her just drive with me. He informed me that they were completely booked and there was not going to be any other carts so he had to charge me. He basically told me "either pay it or don't play" .

Needless to say, the group that I was paired up with didn't show up so I was put with a different group of 3. I couldn't tell you how many groups of 2 I saw out that day, but when I returned to the clubhouse after my round, there were still 25 carts sitting out front.

I really enjoy the course, but due to how rude they were, I might not go back.
