Beautiful Course
Love the layout. Some T boxes are a little rough. Greens were slow. Not used to that here. They’re usually pretty fast and roll well.
The course was in excellent condition. Fast greens and fast fairways as well. Couldn't ask for a better round of golf.
Great Layout, Meager conditions, Bad Walk
Myself and a Buddy walked late in the afternoon, finishing right at sundown. We played in exactly 4 hours. Was a beautiful day and a pretty average golf experience. Course conditions could have been better, considering there's been plenty of time for overseeding to grow in. Millions of ball-marks on greens and divots galore, of course that's a statement about the maintenance of the course as well as those who play it.
You'd think "walkers" would be welcome, (reduced turf wear, zero cart maintenance, the Green Fee is the same if you walk or ride!?). There are almost no walking paths and we found ourselves having to walk thru desert washes and rocky areas and cactus and fine dusty dirt, even carrying our carts/bags thru areas where conditions would not have been kind to the tires of our carts. It just would be nice if the staff would go play it, walk the course and then initiate any considerations for walking play. I will definitely play there again, but probably will ride.
Poor Value
After tax, round was about $80. First few greens were good, but they progressively got patchier with inconsistent speeds. Fairways were mediocre, tee boxes were ragged, and rough is unkempt, dormant bermuda. For $40-50, none of that would bother me, but at the premium Foothills is charging, your money is better spent elsewhere.
The Foothills
Started in the clubhouse with very unfriendly staff and continued to the starter.. I’ve played this course hundreds of times and it goes downhill every time. Worst condition of any course i’ve played in the valley from the tee boxes, fairways, and all the way to the greens.. Save your money this course is an embarrassment when bringing guests from out of town.
Foothills
Nice layout with multiple tee boxes. Fun to play from the proper tee boxes. I have seen the course in better in the past, still worth playing. I would recommend it to out of town players.
