Beginners Only (Mostly)
If you just bought a few clubs from Goodwill & maybe have gone to the range once or twice, this course is for you. Easy course in not very good shape. You can walk or ride. Expect slow play, atleast on weekends. Golf shop is about a 30 sq foot trailer. Bev cart has no hard alcohol, ice or coolers. No restaurant or bar here either. There was a guy with a hot dog stand on the 10th tee box; kinda cool. Staff was friendly enough. I think they all understand what kind of a course they work at.
Fun course.
Fun course, great value. It isn't Pebble Beach but the price was low. Nice design but course was not well maintained.
Cheerful
Everyone from check-in to the cart drop where friendly. Like the new tee-boxes on 10 and 18. Greens are very nice 👍
Trying to support but
Trying to support this course but today was not good . Cart guy needs to go rude as they come . Check was fine the other guy in the office was fine .
Just don’t feel great paying to play but being treated like I’m asking to much to ask which cart can I grab and being yelled at .
Sad
Great greens
Course greens and tee boxes are in great shape! Tons of improvement from earlier this summer. Staff is nice and the rates are unbeatable.
Fun Course - Getting Better - Low Price!
The greens at The Lakes are the best in the valley. They are lush, green, manicured, well maintained and a joy to putt on. Better than the greens at the Biltmore, Silverado, Papago or Talking Stick. Tee boxes are above average. Fairways are generally green with a few brown areas. Aeration has helped green things up. New trees have been planted on some holes but they are still small. For the $17 we spent it was well worth it.
For the Money Support The Comeback!
The greens are amazing. T Boxes are coming along. This is a great amenity for the area and the work they are putting in to get this course up again is admirable! Layout is great and for beginners this is a good course.
Good value, greens are great!
The Lakes has come a long way since the first time I played it a few years ago. The greens were in amazing shape! The fairways are still a work in progress but the new trees, when grown, will make it that much better. There were still muddy and/or bare patches. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The amenities leave much to be desired but it’s a great value for money. I recommend it for beginners or junior golfers.
Greens are good!
The putting surfaces on the course are actually really good. The course is certainly struggling in the fairways, but you can see the grass coming in played in a little golf tournament. They hosted and it was a lot of fun. Would definitely do it again when you play a par 3 course as long as the bunkers and greens are good, I’m happy.
Dog water
Place is a dump. Golf is golf though so had a great time still :)
(Greens honestly not that bad, everything else was dog water)
Immaculate greens
I was surprised to see that every green was perfect. These were the best greens I have played on all summer. The fairways were pretty sketchy but the greens made up for it.
We had our tee time at 5:26 am and the golf pro shop guy show up at 7 am. There were 5 groups waiting and this cause us delay and we couldn’t play.
Best Greens In The Valley!
The greens at The Lakes are the best in the valley. They are lush, green, manicured, well maintained and a joy to putt on. Better than the Biltmore, Silverado, Papago or Talking Stick. Tee boxes are above average. Fairways are just about non-existent, brown or scalped. Aeration has started and with some water the fairways should improve.
