About
San Tan Highlands (formerly known as The Golf Club at Johnson Ranch) boasts a championship course with a front nine that winds through the Sonoran desert and a back nine that finishes at the base of the bordering San Tan Mountains. Naturally, the first half of the golf course is relatively flat and the latter half has a hilly terrain. In contrast to its categorization as a desert course, this course has grass from the tees to the greens but the cactus-filled landscape definitely implies desert. The greens are quite large and undulating and the fairways are fairly open with generous landing areas. Strategically placed sand bunkers and water hazards come into play throughout the San Tan Highlands.

Windy
The course is looking great cart part due to seed and weather conditions rain early this morning. Bunkers have new sand, greens are in perfect condition
Great course and Staff
First time here. Course was in fantastic shape. Enjoyed the hilly back nine in the mountains. Would definitely come back.
Great golf at STH
It was a beautiful fall morning for a golf game. The course is in good condition with recent overseeding now complete. Cart path rules were in effect. My first time playing here and I will be back. Played the back nine and they are really fun and challenging holes.
Great round at this course.
Loved the course layout through the hills. The greens crew have done a great on the grass. Very green. Will definitely come back.
Worth The Drive to Santuckey.
This course has been slowly getting better since the name was changed - not sure if it’s new management. I played on the first day of re-opening after overseeding so the greens were very slow. Besides that, the course was great!
POST LATEST CONDITIONS!!!
We would REALLY applicate it if you keep course conditions up to date, I think it would be nice if you close HALF the course or driving range that SHOULD slow on your wed page
Closing for overseeding
This is a fun course, especially the back 9, but when we arrived we were informed that the driving range and practice putting green was closed for overseeding. There was no mention of this on the website or on GN when we booked our tee time.
We had an 8:42 am tee time and they had maintenance trucks and full sized tractors running all over the course while we golfed because they closed at 10 am to start the work.
All this and we found out that we paid $20 more per person than anyone that booked with short notice.
Please be better with communicating these events in the future!
