Pine at McCormick Ranch Golf Club
About
The Pine Course at the McCormick Ranch Golf Club offers mature pines, in an appropriate contrast to its sibling golf course, the Pine Course, and is also narrower than the other golf course. What they have in common include the facts that Desmond Muirhead designed both of them and they both date back to 1972; recent renovations have also given both golf courses new greens, sand traps and bridges.
The Pine at McCormick Ranch Golf Club measures 7,187 yards, kicking off on a 398-yard par 4 that requires tee shot toward the fairway's center, leaving golfers a mid- to short-iron from the green, which slopes narrowly. Things get long by the fourth hole, one of four par-5 holes that come in at over 500 yards; this one, for example, makes you place your drive well toward right-center if you want to shoot for it in two. Close out the round of golf on the 18th hole, another long one, at 517 yards from the blue tees, and a tight hole to drive that will, thankfully, provide your last test for the day.

Golfer Reviews
Excellent time!
This was our first time playing the pine course & we loved it! The staff was friendly & the course was challenging. We’ll definitely be back & play again.
Fairways have very little grass and surrounded by hard plan. Too bad as layout was nice.
McCormick Ranch. What happened?
I have played this course well over 100 times and the condition of the fairways were the worst ever. Hitting iron shots off dirt in the middle of the fairway does not seem to support the $100.00 green fees. WOW.
Over rated
Very slow play, lot of dirt outside of fairways and greens if you don’t hit a money shot your ball is sitting on dirt, on the back 9 beverage cart only appearance was when we’re on the 17th fairway, no social atmosphere clubhouse/bar/restaurant. For the price I’d prefer other options with better amenities
Pace of play took us almost 5 hours to play..no rangers in sight...greens were best part of course!...sand traps were dirt traps & hard!!...tee boxes Tornio & fairways thin & lots of dirt patches..Definitely won’t play this course again as the # of better courses in Phoenix area...
Wonderful greens.
The fairways and greens were wonderful. Ball tracked on the greens perfect and the fairways were green and hard.
Rough was a little sparse but understandable with the water situation in the dessert. Challenging track but with ample size fairways. Was a fun time!
It was ok
Pace of play was terrible. 3:00 o’clock tee time and didn’t finish .
Fair considering it’s full peak season rate.
T boxes a bit rough. No bunkers dressed at all. Hardpan and standing water in a few. Greens played well. No food service available after round.
Greens good, rest of course no so much.
Whether on the fairways or just off, I was hitting off hardpan dirt for much of the round. The greens were true but were very firm and holding an approach was difficult,,
Not worth the money
I’ve been coming to the Phoenix area for over 20 years to play golf. My friends from the area never brought me to play here. Now I know why, not worth the money. I was thinking because it’s in Scottsdale that it should be pretty nice. I saw a lot more dirt than grass. Nothing jumped out giving me the feeling that I needed to come back and play.
Do not hit in the bunker
If there was sand in the bunker, it was minimal. Like hitting off the cart path. Very disappointing for a $140.00 round of golf
Snobby staff
Felt like the staff were above the patrons. When it started to rain and asked the staff about a rain check, he responded “Why?” Because it’s raining!!
The greens were more dirt than grass. Not impressed
