About
The Pine Course at the McCormick Ranch Golf Club offers mature pines, in an appropriate contrast to its sibling golf course, the Pine Course, and is also narrower than the other golf course. What they have in common include the facts that Desmond Muirhead designed both of them and they both date back to 1972; recent renovations have also given both golf courses new greens, sand traps and bridges.
The Pine at McCormick Ranch Golf Club measures 7,187 yards, kicking off on a 398-yard par 4 that requires tee shot toward the fairway's center, leaving golfers a mid- to short-iron from the green, which slopes narrowly. Things get long by the fourth hole, one of four par-5 holes that come in at over 500 yards; this one, for example, makes you place your drive well toward right-center if you want to shoot for it in two. Close out the round of golf on the 18th hole, another long one, at 517 yards from the blue tees, and a tight hole to drive that will, thankfully, provide your last test for the day.

Nice layout poor course
I came to golf from Oregon with 7 other friends The driving range was nice with free range ball The overall course conditions was poor. Every second shot was hit off tight lies and the traps had no sand in them. There were hard like hitting off of a fairway. One trap even had water in it. We have played a number of courses in the area and this was the poorest course for the money.
Would not play this course again
The layout interesting and challenging. The bunkers had no sand and were like playing off a hardwood floor. The roughs were horrible, without grass you could hit off. Greens in good shape and very challenging. Overall poor value for fees paid.
Not bad
Course was busy but they kept tee time on time. Fairways were cut very tight. Rough area was cut down to the dirt. Greens were hard and very fast. Bounced many shots off the greens then they would roll forever in the tight hard packed rough. Get a hotdog at the turn. Was good..
Good and bad
I enjoyed the Pines layout and conditions. I paid 89.00 at 1:28 tee time. That’s the most I’d pay for it. We played the front in 2:10. We were at 16 tee at 2:10 for the back. I couldn’t finish my round given the next 3 holes would have been 45 min +. Never saw a ranger on the back. It was a parking lot back there. Too bad because the course was a nice experience.

Nice course for higher handicapped folks.
Bunkers of course overwatered and not much
sand in most. Which translates into hard pan.
Could use more directional signs and tee markers.
Fairways and greens in excellent shape!
Nice
Everything was what I would expect from AZ prime season. Close mown fairways, rough in good shape, greens firm but fair. Sand packed like most AZ courses. Not sure about weekend prices, but week day was well worth it.
Conditions no great
While pace was good conditions on tee boxes and bunkers was iffy. There also spots in the fairway which hadn't fully grown in wit the oversees
poor condition
Don't water the bunkers! They were just mud puddles, and it hadn't been raining. Lots of muddy bogs on the course as well. This course is very over priced considering the condition.
Tee boxes, Greens and Fairways were in great condition. Staff was friendly. Course was somewhat challenging, several opportunities for birdies. Will be back soon for a guys trip
Fun golf
We played the Pine Course. Very nice layout. Good for all level of players. We booked a hot deal too!
