Pine at McCormick Ranch Golf Club
About
The Pine Course at the McCormick Ranch Golf Club offers mature pines, in an appropriate contrast to its sibling golf course, the Pine Course, and is also narrower than the other golf course. What they have in common include the facts that Desmond Muirhead designed both of them and they both date back to 1972; recent renovations have also given both golf courses new greens, sand traps and bridges.
The Pine at McCormick Ranch Golf Club measures 7,187 yards, kicking off on a 398-yard par 4 that requires tee shot toward the fairway's center, leaving golfers a mid- to short-iron from the green, which slopes narrowly. Things get long by the fourth hole, one of four par-5 holes that come in at over 500 yards; this one, for example, makes you place your drive well toward right-center if you want to shoot for it in two. Close out the round of golf on the 18th hole, another long one, at 517 yards from the blue tees, and a tight hole to drive that will, thankfully, provide your last test for the day.

Golfer Reviews
The Ranch
Wanted to play here- had a tough round - views were nice! Not one of our favorites.
Overall good
Other than the crotchety starter, who later became the crotchety old Marshall, thus was a great day of golf with my son and daughter. We had a 2:32 tee time and Carl sent us to the tee box about 15 minutes early. The old man starter was rude and condescending and sent us back to the range to wait. Not a huge deal since we were early but a smile goes a long way when you are in the service industry. Two minutes later we get called back to the Tee.
We were “pleasantly” greeted by him on hole 15. Two of us were playing the blues and he couldn’t understand that we followed the sign and knew what we were doing. I can’t exactly explain but he just kept pointing at the sign with the arrow and interrupted our tee shot.
Other that that, the course was fine. And Carl was really friendly.
Starter
The best part of this golf course is the starter and the rangers
Worst course conditions for $150 I’ve ever played. Fairways were OK but too many bare spots off fairways and around greens. I play several courses around the valley that are in better condition for 1/3 or 1/2 the price.
Summer like conditions in April
I expect the conditions to be much better for this course this time of year. It’s currently playing worse than I’ve ever seen it, it’s like playing like it’s the middle of summer, but we’re playing in April when there should be prime conditions. Pace of play was fine, except that they’re letting people go out in fivesomes, we got stuck behind a groups and it did slow play.. plan on hitting out of basically dirt. Very little grass, even on the fairiways it’s really thin. Off fairway it’s patches of really thin grass and dirt, On a good note the greens are in pretty darn good shape.
