Monument at Troon North Golf Club
About
The deserts of Arizona are the last place you'd expect to find an ode to the British Open but the Monument course at Troon North is a love song to the golf courses on the other side of the Atlantic, from the ability to play bump-and-run shots into greens into the names of some of the holes.
A round of golf on the Monument Course at the Troon North Golf Club kicks off on a par-4 hole that measures 444 yards from the Black tees. Things get long on the third hole, a par 5 that plays to 564 yards from the Black tee and is one of four holes that come in at over 500 yards from the Black tees.
The 18th hole on the Monument Course at the Troon North Golf Club will be a relative breeze, then, a par 4 that measures just 370 yards from the Black tees.

Primo layout
Top notch!
Special ocassion destination unless you're loaded.
Used my 75 bookings reward from golfnow to book a twosome -$200 Hot Deal.
Tough, but there are landing areas. Played here before an played better than this time. My fault.
Summer $130
High Season $250
Look for deal.
Be ready.
Troon is awfully nice!
First time playing Troon and it lived up to my expectations. Played the Monument course from the silver (middle) tees and it was a perfect challenge. Shot 82 and I'm a 10. Extremely scenic, plenty of forced carries, pretty narrow fairways, demands straight drives and solid approach shots. The par 3's are excellent (#17 is 230 from the silvers) and the par 5's are uphill and tough. It's a good deal to be able to play Troon for $50. I want to go back and play Pinnacle which is a little tougher.
A good day
We played the pinnacle course on 9/11. Troon north has been one of the premier courses in Arizona for decades, I hadn't played the pinnacle in over a decade... course conditions were a little soft due to the epic rains over the past week, the pinnacle is still a fantastic test of golf, incredible beauty...fair and tough.
One negative comment - golf courses in general including premiere tracks like troon north need to take a long look at portable boom boxes on the course...
A true classic desert course. A must play
If you're ever in the Phoenix area, Troon North should be on your bucket list. I enjoyed myself thoroughly and so will you. Going back tomorrow to play the other course.
Monument
Played the Monument course from the gold tees. This was my first time olaying this course and shot 75. Could have been better, but that is always the case.
Amazing!
First time playing this course. Probably the best course you can play for this price! We didn't see another golfer while we were on the course. Great staff and facilities!
Keep it in play
Very nice course with many challenges. You must hit fairways to score. Plant of desert areas that are in play every hole.
Greens in very good shape for September. Glad I moved up to Silver tees. Shorter by 500 yards, but less stress for the day.
GolfNow price made this a treat to play.
Amazing course
From England we didn't expect the courses to be in such good condition for time of year, super golf course it's a must play.
One of AZ's Best
Played Monument and really enjoyed it as always. This course offers a great challenge and provides total entertainment for players of all levels.
The monument course is monumental.
The course was magnificent. The course is well maintained. The views were beautiful. I would definitely recommend this course to my friends.
Bring your camera!!
Anytime you can play a course like Troon North Pinnacle is always a treat!! Bent grass greens, beautiful desert scenery, and beautiful Arizona weather make for a great day!! A must play when you are in AZ!!
What an Amazing Experience and at a Great Price
My father and I played at 7:25 AM. We had an excellent time from the minute we dropped off our bags. The Starter and the Ranger were also very friendly. My only complaint, and is well outside of the staff's responsibility, is the two foursomes playing in front of us, should have been playing from tees further up. They kept pace, but my father and I who played as a twosome, were waiting at least 5-10 minutes on every tee, because they were always looking for errant tee shots. The course is very challenging, and I loved it, but I recommend playing from the tees that are right for you. I am a 10 handicap, and I played from the Silvers, approx. 6300 yards, and shot an 84. Don't try to be a hero, just enjoy the course and keep it moving. Thank you to the staff at Troon North, there is a reason why they are one of the best in the US.
Monument course
Course was in great shape for August. Scenic views, nice amenities. Pleasant golfing experience.
My First Trron North experience
What a beautiful course. The nicest course I have ever played. Excellant condition. Staff was great expecially the cart guys and girls. I did have an issue with a crusty old course marshall .. not friendly and refused to ask the 4 some in front too pick up the pace. I will be back for sure. I shot a 95 but didnt have my -A- game that day make sure you have yours. FYI - they close the range down early on Monday and Tuesdays. I didnt get to warm up and it took me 9 holes to find my swing. Course knowledge played a big part in my score so I know I will score better next time I play. They have GPS carts which is great .. dont know why more courses dont.
To replay an other Time
Nice golf, Nice facilitiez
For a désert golf expérience it was really interesting
Best Public Course in Phoenix
Phenomenal piece of land as it resides in between several majestic mountains. Conditions were some of the best I've ever encountered in the summer in Phoenix. The greens were actually borderline too soft which is incredible this time of year. Truly a must play if you are visiting Phoenix.
A "must"
Everything about the experience playing at Troon North is great. The staff is very professional and polite. World class facilities. Course was is terrific shape. I will go back for sure...
Great experience
Conditions are as good as one could ever expect in August. Not what it is in season but among the best around for this time of year. Staff here is great.
Horrible staff...
Course was okay...greens were terribly slow. At this price point I expect them to roll fast and true, and that was definitely not the case. The staff was horrendous...from the bar to the pro shop and all the way downstairs to the bag boys. A bunch of kids were running the place and when I asked for Corby(?) the GM, he was nowhere to be found. By then they already had my money and had locked up the pro shop. It was a bad way to end the day and left a very bad taste to say the least. Would not recommend this course.
must play this course
first time played great summer rate on golf now, awesome views great shape overall we love it
