Scottsdale Country Club - The Six Shooter

Play here two times a week on average. It’s the staff and the price that make it great. The course often needs work.

Upon arrival in pro shop waited 10+ minutes while no attendant was in the shop. After finally paying, no receipt was given so had to go back in for receipt for range bucket code. The combination of waits led to us being unable to finish warming up before tee off despite arriving 45 minutes before our tee time. Upon arriving at 1st tee we had to wait for a late arriving group behind us. This set the tone for a very slow day. Saw no action to move play along. I absolutely loved the layout and despite the initial gaffes I was wiling to forgive and reserve additional rounds the rest of the winter. However, upon finishing the round, we were scolded by the cart attendant for our "late return" as he said they want the carts returned by 5:20pm and we were the last group on the course by 20 minutes at 6:05pm, despite the fact he had a dozen carts yet to clean and store AND the fact we passed two groups on our way in. I told him no problem, we won't be back. Just got home and cancelled the 2 existing tee times I had rather than adding additional rounds as I had planned. There are too many good courses in the area to put up with such awful service.

Snuck in a quick round on Thanksgiving morning. Course was nice but we had a slow foursome in front of us that held us up. Course was well groomed but the greens were very slow. Overall it was a great short course and would play again.

First experience had been very positive but somehow a group of 10 golfers were allowed to play together. Several of whom were pretty well gone by the 3rd hole. A round that should take 90 mins was already 2 hrs 15 mins and that was without playing the 9th as it was getting dark.

Enjoyed playing. We weren’t rushed. Nice quick play .

My husband and I played the Mulligan 9 at Starfire for the first time today and absolutely loved it! We have been taking golf lessons and played our first nine holes together today! This is a terrific nine hole course, in very good shape, and not intimidating. The staff at Starfire is very attentive and friendly! The Mulligan nine hole course is not only for beginners . We had such a great experience that we have booked another tee time for Wednesday of this week.

I am an intermediate golfer but was with beginners and expert golfers and we all enjoyed the course equally. Look forward to playing here again.

Just played the "Mulligan 9" to introduce myself to the course. Very pleasant staff, course was in fine condition. Had to wait a bit for the first three holes, as the threesome in front of me were a bit late teeing off, plus used the second green for a practice green. Once they got a few holes under their belts, they rolled along OK. Nice practice range - and with the variety of tees available, you can make some of the holes pretty challenging.

Was behind 9 hole women’s league which was very slow but didn’t matter as we enjoyed the beautiful day. Entertained by a coyote that was bothering the ducks

Greens were in rough shape. Leaves everywhere kind of screwed up our play and made it impossible to find our balls.
