TPC Scottsdale - The Champions Course

I've always wanted to play the course. It was under repair. But, all courses need that from time to time. It was unfortunate it was when I played. But, I was happy with the overall layout and play. I look forward to playing when its in shape.

We rented clubs since I was out of town. I play TM P-790's. I rented the Qi10's. They were pretty comparable. And in decent shape.

The starters knew we were late but still gave us a little time to warm up without running behind.

Overall with all things being what they were, I loved being there and playing such an iconic course.

Layout is very enterntaining and challengin, with great mix of distance and bunkers/hazards.

5 hour round. Lots of construction goung on around the course. Burned out fairways. Driving range has you hitting off mats. No short game aeea.

Less break than we expected but overall a good value.

Honestly was incredibly underwhelmed yesterday. Started at the range, hitting off of mats at a TPC course. Surprising amount of construction and dead grass on the course. Honestly would not pay more than $60 to play that again. Wasn’t in nearly as good condition as last August when it was 120 degrees. Called the clubhouse to order food at the turn and they told us we can place an order at the snack bar and they will run it out to us. Well the girl said she can’t run any food so food wasn’t really an option while playing. It’s over 100 degrees now. $100 isn’t even a good deal, especially with the current condition.

We took a later tee time to start in the heat rather than finish. When booking, we were not told that there was construction on multiple holes on the course. We probably wouldn't have played it had we known. The pro shop staff was kind but brief, we were not told the course conditions, speed of greens, areas to stay away from, club selection, etc. There was no food available that I'm aware of as things were closed when we finished and the rest were young cart staff indifferent.

Great course, and welcoming starter. Our only complaint is the beverage cart girl on this day was driving way to fast and took a corner to wide and almost hit us. This was concerning as it was well marked due to construction alongside course, however she paid no attention and offered no apologies. Keep your head up on the cart paths!!

Don’t think there is a word that would truly describe this course. Just so well-maintained.

Great condition. Love the layout. 4:30 pace of play, slow. Construction along a few holes distracting but unavoidable. It'll get better.

Great course good challenge for the average club golfer, lots of construction taking place , so fee should be less. Greens fantastic and fast.
