TPC Scottsdale - The Champions Course

Great shape and enjoyable to play. Great layout and great greens.

Played Champions course yesterday and enjoyed it as usual. Course was in fantastic shape for August. Greens were in immaculate condition. Fairways and tee were lush and green. This place is always on my list to play whEn I come to Scottsdale.

The course is in good shape for this time of year. There are a couple of holes being repaired but it doesn’t effect your ability to play. The staff all around the course were very helpful and the restaurant had good food. The pace on the front 9 was great, once we hit the turn we were waiting 10-20 minutes on the tee box. There was a foursome two groups ahead of us that were very slow. There was no marshal on duty and the group was not courteous enough to let people play through. To make it worse there were several holes that were cart path only. The slow play really made the experience less than enjoyable.

This course is always a great play, but have to look out for a fair price for a tee time. If your paying $110+ you may want to wait for a deal as I usually do.

Group ahead was drinking and having a good time but not keeping up pace. Also did not rake any traps or sand any divots. Parts of course under construction but did not affect playing areas. Staff very friendly.

Ended up only playing 9 holes because of monsoon rain and lightening...only got back 30% of what we paid! Should have just given us a 9 hole rain check instead...Our cart also had a GPS that didn't work, they brought us a new cart, but not until we were on hole #5...very disappointed with all of this because course was in great condition and we were looking forward to playing here...

What a track! As a 15hcp with an average drive of 240, still played the blues. Was still able to pull off a 93.

Greens were much slower than anticipated.

The course was in outstanding overall condition. I played like I’d never held a club before, but I don’t hold it against the course.

Great price for a quality round. The grass is green and the fairways are not burnt and patchy. Hard to find in mid summer. A lot of other courses are in rough shape, but not here. Lots of airplanes flying low over the course, but I actually found that cool. Would def play again.

Fun course and it was in great shape. The greens were fairly slow but in great shape. Verti-cut, mow and top dress, greens will be pure.

Fun afternoon ended early due to weather.

Happy to have had a chance to play it. There are a lot of courses I like better as I enjoy not being right by a major highway, the 101. There are so many wonderful courses in the mountains throughout the greater Phoenix area that we prefer to play.

Layout was good course was in good shape. Greens still had a little fertilizer on them but still rolled good. Staff was great very friendly and helpful. Would recommend and plan on playing again.
