Very nice course. Pace of play was great. The front nine Marshall David was amazing

Rough grounds.
A lot of tree debris all over the course most likely from recent storm/wind although some appeared to be older. It didn't seem like the workers were too concerned about cleaning it up.
The greens were average at best. The pace of play was painfully slow with a group (bachelor party) of 6 & 4 a couple of holes in front of me. The cost was fair and as they say "you get what you pay for". If you keep your expectations low you won't: be disappointed with this course experience.

We take speed of play seriously and make sure our course marshals and starters are continually working with our golfers on their pace. It looks as though we missed an opportunity, and we will continue to improve.

Needs attention
Turf of fairways and rough are in serious need of help. Poor soil conditions

Hot summer golf
Front nine tee boxes were being rebuilt. So we played temporary tees. Way Forward almost like a short par 3 course. Back nine was fine. The fairways and rough was terrible too hot summer. The greens were surprisingly good for the summer. We're moving grass was in good shape on the greens. Would go back and play again some other time

tee box repairs on King
Tee boxes have been repaired on the King Course. The boxes are still closed on the front 9. Yardage on front 9 is still significantly reduced with temp tees in effect. The back 9 tees are open and the holes play standard full yardage. I knew this before booking. Some fairways had significant bare spots. The greens are in very good condition considering the extreme summer heat. The round was worth with the hot deal price. All tee boxes are nice and level, front to back and side to side. Something I have seen for a long time at many courses.

Acceptable
Work being done on course at tee boxes but did not interfere with our play

Course and tee boxes in poor condition
Tee boxes were poor with temporary tee boxes for all holes. Fairway was mostly dirt and muddy

Response to Travis Fish
Looks like you have replied to a lot of complaints, Travis. Rather than giving weak lip service to the complaints and attacking me personally in your reply to comments, let me suggest you drop your rates, fix the darn course and have your maintenence man and rangers take some customer service training. Your course is a mess and no namby pamby justification by saying you are putting in new tees cuts the mustard. Lastly, Melissa never told me to say off the resodded and playable tees. You have lost a lot of players with your shenanigans. They sound like me. We won't be back.

Should charge summer pass rate until course conditions are corrected.

Way too much for course conditions
All tee boxes being leveled. Terrible tree placement and fairways were very short. Overall course conditions were not good. Overwatering has caused the grass to die out and weeds have grown in most areas.
Don’t waist your money at Starfire.

The record breaking summer heat has been a struggle for many valley golf courses. Please be assured that we are working very hard to ensure top conditions. Course in Poor Codition: Price is Too High
The course has been severely shortened due to construction on all tee boxes. Looks like it will take a month or two to get completed and sod put in place. The greens are OK as are some of the fairways, but not much else.
If you want to play a short course this will work but for the $$ they are charging you can better value at other places. My group agreed we won't play here again until repairs are completed in September. There was no info provided at the pro shop about the condition of the course due to the repairs so it is definitely buyer beware!

We are continually working to improve our golfers’ experience and summertime is the popular time of year for most courses to do their renovations and improvements.
As you noticed, this summer we have an entire tee complex renovation scheduled for our King Course. We are leveling all the tees and resurfacing with 419 Bermuda grass. We are excited to have improved teeing grounds for our golfers starting late-summer. We train our staff to keep our guests informed on the temporary tees and any other conditions a golfer might need to know about. We also make sure the notices are posted for our online/GolfNow bookings.
It sounds like we somehow missed an opportunity to keep your group informed.
