Starfire Golf Club - The King Course

Greens were not smooth and fairway's had lots of bare areas. They were overwatering so low spots were very wet. Liked the layout with all the beautiful homes.

So I booked a tee time for 11:58 and it was a hot deal. I have a season pass at starfire and Golfnow failed to tell me that I had to pay the hot deal price and Starfire would not give me a refund for the discounted rate and said I needed to go through GolfNow if I wanted to see any chance at a refund. other than that a fun course to play.

Tees were hard and worn. Fairways were short and grass was starting to burn out in places……greens were ok, but were showing signs of burning out

Starfire is a fun course, with quite a bit of water. There are a few forced carries, but from the proper tees, they are very manageable. My only criticism would be, that the course conditions were not what I remembered. That said, our group enjoyed our early morning round.

Decent track but very little quality grass in the fairway. Kinda frustrating when you’re hitting the ball in the middle. Greens were slow. I still like Starfire first course I ever played in Az, but it needs some attention

Played this course before when it was a little better shape. Some of the tee boxes were pretty bare, roughs are exactly that-rough and if you don’t track your hit very well then you will lose your ball forever. The fairways were pretty good, a few bare spots noted. Greens were on the slow side as I think they were still moist from the morning watering. Bunkers were wet sand/mud and they desperately need to trim the lip of all the bunkers as there were viney weeds growing into the bunkers. People need to be encouraged to fix their green divots and use the divot fillers on the fairways. Also our divot filler containers were nearly empty. There was ice cold water coolers out-great addition! We brought our own coolers with just water and snacks. Saw the bev cart twice. Pace of play was fine-did have to wait a few times but no biggie. There is three holes that have mandatory water so plan your approach. Staff was very nice, efficient, and the starter let us go slightly early since we were a twosome! I will only play this course when the fees are lower.

Absolutely dreadful experience at this golf course! Management is an utter disaster. Grounds are a mess, staff behaves unprofessionally, and there's zero organization. Don't waste your hard-earned money here. Find a better place to play golf, trust me!

Except for an unfriendly on-course marshall, everything was pretty good. Only could play 9 holes due to my colleague’s time commitment.
