Great course and fun to play
Staff was friendly and gave clear instructions but with a smile. Saw cart girl once on both 9's which was enough. Pace of play was 4:15. Decent. Beautiful day to be out on the course.

Like all scottsdale are courses overpriced but still good

All Good BUT ---
Some of the greens were close to minor washboard... some of the cups on the greens protrude the flat surface of the green.

Great easy Palmer design
Super friendly staff and course was in great condition. Super easy holes if you can find the fairways. Just be aware that there is a ladies group on Monday mornings that held up pace of play a little bit but not terribly. And they won’t let anyone drive a cart under the age of 18 even if they have their drivers license. But other than that course was great.

We are continually working to improve our golfers’ experience.
This summer we have an entire tee complex renovation scheduled. We will be leveling all the tee surfaces and resurfacing with a modern strain of Bermuda grass. We are excited to have improved teeing grounds for our golfers starting mid-summer.

Experience good and bad
The bad: no cart available to get to the driving range which was a 5 min walk.
The driving range was only partially open so we’re not able to get on and warm up. Paid for range balls we couldn’t use.
Pace of play was slow so we waited a lot. 4 hrs 20 min to play 16 holes. We ran out of daylight.
The good: course conditions were excellent. The pin locations were a little tough for us but the greens were very nice.

We take speed of play seriously and we make sure our course marshals and starters are continually working with our golfers on their pace.

New Clubs Test Round
Course was in great shape. Greens were a little slow, but I was testing a new set of clubs, so the rough and fairway was in great shape. The staff was friendly and helpful. There are some challenging holes on this course, but is short with 6100 from the back tees. There is a driving range that allows hitting off the grass on certain days during the week.
Thank you for playing Starfire Golf Club! We’re excited you enjoyed your experience at Starfire Golf Club. Our 6,100 yard golf course stays pretty challenging at a par 70 for sure.
Currently we hit off mats on Tuesdays and Thursdays and the other days are off of grass.
