Great Day of Golf
Had a great time at Starfire today. No complaints. Was able to play with a special green fees offer which made it all worthwhile. Using mats today on the range, but not a major issue.
green fees are too high for what you got
It’s a nice enough course, greens roll , pretty well, and the staff is friendly.
For what you pay this course should be spectacular but it’s just OK. I’d play it again at less than half the price I paid., but would never play it again for more than $80

Poor customer support
The golf course is fine, but we were very disappointed by a couple issues we have never run into, especially at a course of this supposed quality. We were the first tee time of the day and arrived 45 minutes early to warm up on the driving range, only to find it didn't open until after our tee time. The pro shop and restrooms were not open when arrived either. Then we were asked by a pro shop employee (possibly assistant pro?) to wait for 20 minutes before teeing off on #12 because the greenskeepers were not done prepping holes ahead of us. We book early so we can get done golfing and still meet other obligations, so this was a huge inconvenience. When we complained about these issues to the head pro, he offered no apology or compensation because he said there was nothing he could do about it due to HOA restrictions. If that is the case, then they should either start tee times later or inform early golfers of the issues before they book tee times, but they are apparently more concerned about selling as many rounds as they can cram in than they are in providing good customer service. We won't be back.

We do understand and appreciate that some golfers like to go out early and really race around the course.
With our maintenance procedures at Starfire we do request of our early morning golfers to please play in 1 hour and 45 minutes per 9 holes (3.5 hours for 18) so our maintenance team can complete all their tasks for the golfers' experience. We make every effort to thoroughly explain this to our early morning golfers. We apologize as it sounds like we missed an opportunity to keep your group informed.
This should have been explained at check-in to avoid any frustration.
We will review the communication standards with the team to lessen the chance of this reoccurring.

Tea boxes
The only thing I saw that they need to work on is the tea boxes. The tea boxes are not flat they have humps in them and hard to tear up.

This summer we have an entire tee complex renovation scheduled. We will be leveling all the tee surfaces and resurfacing with a modern strain of Bermuda grass. We are excited to have improved teeing grounds for our golfers starting later in the summer.

Easter golfing
The staff was very friendly and let me and my wife play by ourselves on the course. Fairways and greens were excellent condition.

Not so much bang for your buck
Played this course few times. Noticed the prices go up & the course maintenance goes down which doesn’t make sense to me. Tee boxes were horrible, the greens were dead, then some would be muddy & over watered. Bad day of golf still better than a good day of work!

Overpriced, But Good Conditions
First things first, I am a local and this is not an over $100 course. In my opinion, this is a $75-$100 course even in prime season. The fact that they were charging close to $200 (w/tax, fees, range balls) a round a few weeks ago is absolutely absurd. I guess there is the Scottsdale premium to pay among other surcharges (spring training). With that said, this is not a long course (Tips 6106; six par threes), but it is in good shape. The fairways and greens are in good condition. The greens are a bit hard, but roll true. The front 9 is normally very slow, but the back 9 picks up after #10. On a Sunday, it took us 2:40 to play the front 9 & my group are all under 10 HCP. 5-10 minute wait on each tee box and no Ranger around to speed things up. The back 9 took about 1:45. The restaurant patio is small, but great. Overall, a nice course to play, but not a good value considering the $ they are now charging.

Pace of Play
There was a lack of golf carts and a wait prior to round, had to walk to the driving range and then back. Once on the course they had allowed singles to play from individual carts (explains lack of carts). Pace of play was painful and the marshals were useless and down right rude about pace of play. Love the course but you need to upgrade marshals and have them “marshal” the course.
Thank you so much for your well thought out feedback. You are right, we want all golfers paired up for their rounds so we have carts for all of our golfers. We also take pace of play seriously and we apologize we missed an opportunity to manage it accordingly.

not so impressed
Driving in and out of housing area. No GPS in the golf cart. IMO, we paid too much for over heated weather.
