Response to Travis Fish
Looks like you have replied to a lot of complaints, Travis. Rather than giving weak lip service to the complaints and attacking me personally in your reply to comments, let me suggest you drop your rates, fix the darn course and have your maintenence man and rangers take some customer service training. Your course is a mess and no namby pamby justification by saying you are putting in new tees cuts the mustard. Lastly, Melissa never told me to say off the resodded and playable tees. You have lost a lot of players with your shenanigans. They sound like me. We won't be back.

Should charge summer pass rate until course conditions are corrected.

Way too much for course conditions
All tee boxes being leveled. Terrible tree placement and fairways were very short. Overall course conditions were not good. Overwatering has caused the grass to die out and weeds have grown in most areas.
Don’t waist your money at Starfire.

Course in Poor Codition: Price is Too High
The course has been severely shortened due to construction on all tee boxes. Looks like it will take a month or two to get completed and sod put in place. The greens are OK as are some of the fairways, but not much else.
If you want to play a short course this will work but for the $$ they are charging you can better value at other places. My group agreed we won't play here again until repairs are completed in September. There was no info provided at the pro shop about the condition of the course due to the repairs so it is definitely buyer beware!

As you noticed, this summer we have an entire tee complex renovation scheduled for our King Course. We are leveling all the tees and resurfacing with 419 Bermuda grass. We are excited to have improved teeing grounds for our golfers starting late-summer. We train our staff to keep our guests informed on the temporary tees and any other conditions a golfer might need to know about. We also make sure the notices are posted for our online/GolfNow bookings.
It sounds like we somehow missed an opportunity to keep your group informed.

Needs a lot of work
Notwithstanding tee box maintenance in progress, fairways are in poor condition, greens recovering from aeration, and cart paths in poor repair. Standing water, soggy ground and dying grass common throughout the course. Cart paths cracked, crumbling, and collapsed.
Would not recommend play at this time other than for beginners

Starfire is in rough shape
All of the tee boxes are torn up and the temporary “tee boxes” are much closer to the green than normal and 20-30 yards closer than the normal forward tees.
We knew the tee boxes were being leveled but did not imagine how bad things would be. In some cases the temporary tee boxes were extremely slanted.
Won’t play the course again!

Okay course
Okay course, probably won’t play again. All the tee boxes were being re-sodded when I played. Wasn’t worth the money for what it was at the time I played.

Play somewhere else
Course in awful condition, fairways deplorable, greens aerated understandable, but Course was an executive layout with tees under renovation. They didn’t advertise that until I booked a tee time with a prepayment, just another valley money grab.
Will never play there again.

Waste of Money
They said tees were temporary but they were 100 plus yard shorter on every hole and all par 3’s were 65 yards course was a joke and still charged $60 in July. Save yourself your money and time.

No Tee Boxes
All tee boxes are under construction so all of the tee boxes were pushed up making all of the par 4's par 3's and the par 5's VERY short par 4's. Several of the tee boxes were on a slant with out grass. I usually like this course but no one said anything about the tee boxes..

Dog Track
Paid internet rate of $40 which was a ripoff. Course had temporary tees which were a joke. Course supposedly rebuilding tees but that is not true. Tees resodded and should be used. Rough looks like an old west prairie and greens recently punched. Maintenance man Marcos threatened me when I complained about the tees and ranger Brian, who I had met before acted like a grumpy old man. Only thing good here was the cart girl Melissa, who even complained about the lack of play and how the poor conditions affected her tips. Stay away from this awful place.

Goat Track
Played today and was charged internet rate of $40. This was a rip off. There are temporary tees which makes this a glorified par 3 course. They were supposed to build new tees but have not. They just resided the existing tees and should be used now. Greens were recently punched and in lousy shape. Bunkers had standing water in them and little sand. Rough looked like the Texas prairie…dry and dusty. Sprinklers were on in fairways, interrupting play. Maintenance worker was abusive and ranger Brian was cranky. Only good thing was cart girl, Melissa although she said tips were down because of little play. Course should be shut down until repairs completed and greens fees refunded for those duped by this course. Stay away!

When a tee time is booked online an alert comes up indicating our temporary tee situation which must be accepted by the golfer before you can continue to make the time.
You were asked on several occasions by team members including our assistant superintendent and beverage cart hostess to stay off our newly sodded tee work. Starfire owners invested ample capital and our golf course workers have put in untold hours in the heat on our tee renovation to make sure the course has outstanding tees for all our golfers into the foreseeable future.
All we asked from you in return was to please comply like all the other understanding and respectful golfers have all summer long.

Not Right Now
They have all tee boxes under construction, using temporary tees. The temp tees are moved up making most par fours drive-able for the average to above average. This causes a back up at every hole! It could be a fun little course to for practice during construction if it weren't so slow!!!!!

Fun quick course
While a bit bummed I wasn't aware the tee boxes were closed and temp tee boxes were about half way up. this course is always a good one to go to if you want a quick round or affordable option. I wouldn't compare it to the higher end courses but it's a great municipal styled course. it's as easy/hard as you make it but can virtually play from where ever the ball goes. The staff are extremely nice and professional

Terrible experience. Not forthcoming about course renovations
We did not find out until we went to the first tee that every tee box on the course was closed, greens were aerated and temp tee boxes on fairway. We were charged full rate and no apologies. Rude marshall all over us about pace of play and there were NO people behind us. Crazy. Stay away.
