When the architect Rees Jones created the golf course at the Legend Trail Golf Club, he created a golf course that brings out the Old West-style air of Scottsdale and a fun and testing golf course with greens made of bent grass. It's a premium golf course smack dab in the Sonora Desert.

The golf course at the Legend Trail Golf Club features broad fairways, diminutive bunkering and tees placed on islands, and has been called one of the Top 100 golf courses by Golf Magazine. The magazine also gives Legend Trail 4.5 stars out of five among its

Best Places to Play, and has one of the Top 100 Woman-Friendly Fairways, according to Golf For Women magazine. Panoramas include local sites like Pinnacle Peak, and a round at Legend Trail Golf Club gives all levels of golfer several different shot-making options.

Golf a late-afternoon round on Friday or Saturday, and head back to the Trail's End Grill from 4 to 6 p.m. for specials on drinks and appetizers.

Legend trails

Very nice course. Good conditions considering just finished overseed. First part of the course is fairly straightforward but then the course routing becomes varied and interesting. Worth a visit.

Legend Fail: Tale of the Senior Flex

Don't get it twisted folks, Legend Fail may have the Scottsdale zip code and the nice geography, but this place is more akin to a Sun City Old Folks Pitch and Putt.

Got paired with a cranky local woman who lives in the area and plays only Legend Trail, She was convinced we could get a 2.5 hour round in and played at a pace more akin to speedgolf, Only problem being there was a full tee sheet of other bozos looking to play a 7 hour round. The strangest rushed-slow round I've ever played.

While it's 6800 from the tips, this course was designed for the tees under 5500 total. Want to feel like you hit your driver like Bryson, just play legend trail! Every fairway with any sort of bend runs out at like 260.

If you want the north Scottsdale experience save a few war bonds and go play Troon North or the Boulders.

Did not play. Tee-off "system" switched the date!

I can assure you I carefully selected Thursday 10/10 at the time I booked the tee time. I was provided Wednesday 10/9 on my confirmation which I did NOT carefully review. It was only after receiving this review request that I discovered the discrepancy. I contacted your customer service department and Zoe provided me with 4 - $20 promo codes.

This "system switch" happened only one other time several years back, however that time was able to catch the error and contact your customer service area immediately. I will definitely scrutinize my bookings going forward.

Not happy with the fact this error cost me $ s and a golf game today.

Worst Course in Scottsdale Area

Legend Trail is by far the worst course in the area, slow play, poor conditions, extremely rude staff. There are so many better courses in the area. Don't waste your time and money here.

Fairways are dead grass, some bunkers need more sand.

Over seeding to start soon, but the course was in poor shape.

So this is a fantastic layout. Course is very, very dry as they get ready for overseed. Still a fun play as green and traps are in good shape.

Fun but a bit slow

I know it was a holiday however the pace was a bit slow for my liking. It took about 4.5 hours to play. Otherwise, we really like this course when we visit the area. The course was in good shape for the time of year. Other than pace it was a fun day of golf

Seasonal prep in the works

Always a great course overall. Getting ready for the upcoming season, a little ragged. Still better than some courses in their prime. I can play and enjoy this course anytime.

All the water stations had no water.

Over 100 degrees and all the water coolers were empty. Beer cart girl had left. Inexcusable for summer golf. This course cares and one thing. The almighty $$$

Pace Of Play

I only write this Negative Review cause of the response from the Staff and the group in front of us.

We had a 912 Tee time

The group in front of us was a Father, 2 teenagers and a teenager friend.

On the 4th hole Par 5 they were roughly 300yds in front of us and took their shot so we proceeded to tee off and they drove about 50yds back towards us for them to play their shot. So of course we hit into them and the one teeneager pick up our ball and drove away from us. They were playing from the tips and had no business doing so as the one player could barely make the fairway. We waited 10mins on every tee box and when we mentioned something to the Ranger all he said is pace of play is on schedule. So lets jump forward to the 18th and after the last kid teed off he looked at us and started jawing. So again we waited another 10mins as they hit multiple balls from the fairway and the youngest teen actually walked and moved his ball about 50yds to join the other 2. (Now remember after about 275yds the fairway slops down so its a blind tee shot for long hitters and you cant see the green from tips) so myself and another member of our group bomb the ball only to see the same 2 teens from hole earlier drive backwards and pick up our balls. So we drove our carts to green and thats when all broke lose between our guy and the Dad while all the teens arw egging our buddy on. The Father shoved our guy after our guy slapped his phone of his hand. The Father raised his putter and threatened to hit our guy.

Needless to say the Police had to come.

What im trying to get at is

If a group calls in 3 or 4 times cause of issues or pace of play do something about it. This situation couldve ended up so much worse than it did.

I love this course and I def will NOT bring this friend of mine back ever again but again do something about the issue!
