Rating 73.2

Pinnacle at Troon North represents a stunning, challenging golf experience blended into the high Desert's natural beauty with steep arroyos, natural washes and forests of saguaros and desert foliage. Portions of some fairways are hidden behind boulders and hills. Huge greens surrounded by large bunkers and sloping terrain challenge golfers on every approach shot.

A round of golf on the Pinnacle Course at the Troon North Golf Club kicks off on a par-4 hole that measures 392 yards from the Black tees. Things get crazy long on the 16th hole, a par 5 that plays to 609 yards from the Black tees. By that measure, the 18th hole will be a cakewalk, at par-4 and just 447 yards from the Black tee to the clubhouse.

After finishing the Pinnacle Course at Troon North Golf Club, head to the Grille, which offers a view of others trying to complete the course you've conquered, as well as the desert.

Absolutely Phenomenal!

I have played a lot of golf courses in many states and a few different countries. This one is in my top 3 - relentless at times, yet challenging for any club golfer! The course condition was over the top fantastic, greens we speedy but controllable, and tee boxes were like carpet. Greens fees were still checkout. expensive for this time of year, and includes a 5% water surcharge and 8% sales tax. For me, it was a bucket list checkoff.

Way Overpriced and Overhyped

First, the upside. The back nine is beautiful, with lots of variation , great topography, and beautiful homes.. The practice area is average at best, and at those prices there should be a range attendant. Our biggest issue with the course was pace of play, which was awful. The 4 hour 45 minute round took much of the enjoyment out of the day. We were waiting on most holes. Impossible to get into any sort of rhythm. Even though there were Rangers, the pace was awful, simply because of packing the tee times too close together. The front nine is completely forgettable. It's a nice subdivision course, but not worth $240.00 by any stretch.

Greens are not good!

Troon North Monument greens are hardly puttable. I’m a zero handicap golfer and the poor greens made for an unenjoyable day. They look good, but they are so grainy the ball breaks uphilll and they are terribly slow. Even a full shot doesn’t make a ball mark in the green. The course is otherwise in good shape. The pace of play was slow. We started at 2:20 and finished the last two holes in the dark. There was no Marshall on the course. We played Grayhawk that morning and the greens were really good. Quintero and We-Ko-Pa greens were also good. Stay away from Troon North.

Decent

First time playing. Course was in great shape. Practice facilities were standard. I did like the lay out of monument. Difficult second shot course- no even lies- which I liked. Fairly short and greens rolled well. Bunkers were in horrible condition- wet and muddy. Amenities are average to sub par for price. In all decent course- for the money- well below average for sure. Not a course I’d play again for the money- so many better options around in the price range.

Good, but severely overpriced

Overall a very good course, with friendly and helpful staff. They should however not be asking premium rates for sanded and uncut greens, and an uneven driving range with grass as long as their rough.
