About
Hillcrest Golf Club possesses a championship length course that offers a great variety of game options with five sets of tees. The course has a traditional design that features open fairways lined with trees, which put a premium on straight shots. The greens vary greatly with some that are relatively flat and medium sized and others that are quite large and dramatically sloped or multi-tiered. In addition to several sand bunkers, water hazards in the forms of lakes and ponds come into play. The signature hole is the par-5 13th, which has been touted by the Phoenix Gazette as being on of the best holes in the state. Hillcrest Golf Club not only has a dogleg around a lake, the hole requires an approach shot uphill to a green that is guarded by eight bunkers.

Great fun, course is in good shape, friendly people, play it you wont be disappointed.

Good course
We've played Hillcrest several times, but it has been awhile due to poor conditions, so decided to play it again. The course is in much better condition, but very wet and still needs cart paths. The greens were slow with no fringe making putts tricky. The grass on the tee boxes was longer than normal as well. It's a good course if you want to get out and you're a mid to high handicapper. If you want consistency and nice rolling greens, go elsewhere.

Been golfing here for several years and consider this my “home course”. I have never seen it in better condition from the T-box, to the fairway and greens.

rough shape
Overall , avg muni course. Tee boxes beat up, fairways ok and greens thick and slow.
Slow play
They had Rangers on the course but they weren't moving people along couple of holes there were three foursomes backed up at one time I only played 12 holes and then left because it was too slow
Fun course with great staff
The course was wet but in great shape. The rain obviously isn't the course's fault.
Fun layout overall with some challenging and easy holes.
The sand traps were awful but that is pretty standard in arizona.
Pro shop was basic and the range was weird with thin matts down on grass. Chipping and putting area is nice.
I would recommend as a good $25-$45 option.
You get what you pay for
Really long course. Fairways in decent shape. Great fun course to play for cheap! Try to stay on the fairways there is some dirt on the outsides. Would play again
Good deal
With snowbirds having left area course was almost empty so our twosome played in some 3 to 31/2 hours. Fairways and greens are in Ok shape especially considering price to play.
