About
Hillcrest Golf Club possesses a championship length course that offers a great variety of game options with five sets of tees. The course has a traditional design that features open fairways lined with trees, which put a premium on straight shots. The greens vary greatly with some that are relatively flat and medium sized and others that are quite large and dramatically sloped or multi-tiered. In addition to several sand bunkers, water hazards in the forms of lakes and ponds come into play. The signature hole is the par-5 13th, which has been touted by the Phoenix Gazette as being on of the best holes in the state. Hillcrest Golf Club not only has a dogleg around a lake, the hole requires an approach shot uphill to a green that is guarded by eight bunkers.

Pro shop gentleman is a nice, personable person. That’s always a great start to the golfing experience. Can’t stand when those guys are dry and grumpy. The course can use some TLC. Overall a good experience. Thank you.
Laid Back
Definitely a laid-back course. It really does have some character. Definitely will be back.
Thursday morning 46 degrees
A bit chilly to start, but warmed up nicely by 3/4 hole.
Green is great condition, fairways good condition, still some wet spots, and variety on low spots you have to avoid driving through.
Great place to play for a reasonable rate! Tee box to green is in good shape!
Interesting layout course
Layout is nice. Need some cleaning up around the course. Need do something on the green. Lot of brid poop on the green.
Great golf day
Perfect weather. Early start. Excellent pace of play. 3.5 hours even though one of our 3some was a slow player.
Course generally in good condition other than cart paths and other tracks that badly need attention as do some of the rough areas. Some sand traps lacking good sand.
We will play here again
Very nice challenging course. Golfed with some locals so the course knowledge helped us. The greens and fairways were in good shape. Very friendly staff. Loved the layout on some of the holes. Challenging longer par 3's were fun. We are booking another round here.
Still needs tons of work
Sand traps were unplayable. If you hit it anywhere but the fairway, you are hitting off of hard dirt. Even around the greens. I hear under new ownership who will need years to get this neglected course up to playing standards.

Very good shape plus their new tee areas are a big improvement! Working to improve their bunkers. Greens very consistent. Fun but challenging course.
