Located in the west valley, the golf course at Coyote Lakes Golf Club combines a desert landscape and traditional design with scenic views of the White Tank and Bradshaw Mountains. Although it is modest in length and suitable for all players, the course is still an enjoyable challenge for even advanced golfers. The front nine is more difficult than the back nine with large greens and several contours. The back nine is also challenging though with several notable holes. The fairways are undulating on both and water hazards come into play on several holes. Coyote Lakes Golf Club's signature hole is the 14th, a par-3 hole that requires a shot from an elevated tee to a green that is well protected by two sand bunkers and a lake to the left.

Fairways need help.

Very nice Track with challenging greens, but fairways are half dead. Really detracts and you need to play preferred lies. Nice staff. Took 4 1/2 hours on Saturday.

Eagle time with tough pins

Great day eagled #3. Pace of play was very slow at 5 hrs 15 min. We were 30 min late on the tee. The pin positions for Saturday weekend play were quite sever. I worked at a golf course for 4 years setting pins so I do know what I am talking about. This may have contributed to the slow play. Course is in very good condition with nice greens. Nice staff.

Slow Play

The play was extremely slow on this day. Some holes had up to three groups waiting on the tee.. we had played it the week before and had not experienced this problem.

No range

So, not having a full range is a huge downside to playing that course. Overall - it’s a good course. What I didn’t like is the fact that the tee time actually started earlier and the first 3 holes we had to play off of frozen grass … and on frozen greens..

I don’t mind a frost delay. Not sure why they sent us through. Asked to replay the 1st 3 holes- was denied

Good Course

Good course, always challenging and calls for consistency with every part of your game. Pace of play was restricted and couldn’t really keep a decent rhythm going. Too much waiting on the tee box. Maybe we’ll have better players in front of us next time we’re on this course. Deo Volente (God Willing)

Worth Playing.

I would recommend this course. My only real criticism is the pro shop staff is unfriendly to visitors. They speak and treat locals with much more consideration.

Challenging Course in Surprise, AZ

I’ve played this course half a dozen times over the past 2 years when I visit Phoenix. This course provides some nice challenges and is not your typical flat course. The green are in good condition but definitely slow. Fairways are fairly well kept. Sand traps are poor - more dirt and gravel than sand. Cart staff are very helpful and supportive. Pro-shop staff is not very friendly to visitors - they act completely different if you are someone they know from the area. I recommend this course as it is fair value compared to other courses in Phoenix.

Meets expectations

Staff is extremely friendly and helpful. For an inner city course, you get what you pay for. You are either in a fairway or a backyard. Pace of play was terrible, with very slow 4some’s front and back. . To be expected this time of year.

Very fun course and the conditions are better than you would think for the price. Other courses price gouge this time of year but this course is priced very fairly. The range uses foam balls as it is very short but everything else about this course is great. Also the staff is very friendly. Definitely will be playing here again.
