Coyote Lakes Golf Club
About
Located in the west valley, the golf course at Coyote Lakes Golf Club combines a desert landscape and traditional design with scenic views of the White Tank and Bradshaw Mountains. Although it is modest in length and suitable for all players, the course is still an enjoyable challenge for even advanced golfers. The front nine is more difficult than the back nine with large greens and several contours. The back nine is also challenging though with several notable holes. The fairways are undulating on both and water hazards come into play on several holes. Coyote Lakes Golf Club's signature hole is the 14th, a par-3 hole that requires a shot from an elevated tee to a green that is well protected by two sand bunkers and a lake to the left.

Nice Sunset Shot Photo submitted by shortyofak on 03/19/2014
Greedy
It took us 2:50 to play the front nine. They cram so many groups in one after another. At one point there were 3 foursomes waiting to tee off. We teed off at 2pm and could t even finish our round. We didn’t see the Marshall even one time trying to speed up play! Not a great experience.!!!
Slow play
We waited for almost every shot. There was a marshall but all he did was smile. Plan all day if you are going to play this course.
Nice course. Good staff. Enjoyed different layout of holes.
Really Fun and Interesting
I really loved this course. While the fairways, for the most part, looked easy because they were so wide they had extreme changes in elevation all over the place. If you’re good enough you can hit the ball onto the sections of the fairway that don’t manipulate where your ball goes which gives you a nice approach look. However, where the ball is directed on the fairway will put you in a position to have to make a difficult shot afterwards. Really nicely setup. The hazards are in near perfect positions. The greens were very good, a little too slow if I’m being picky, but that’s better than too fast. The only problem with this course is it’s location and that it’s a public course. I was paired up with an extremely annoying and rude elderly individual. Would not stop talking while I was trying to play. Just a relentless person. On top of that you have elderly individuals playing up and down the course, which I really have no problem with, but don’t expect to be able to play ready golf. You’ll be looking at 15+ minutes per hole. However the quality of players isn’t really fair to judge a course on, but I’m just being honest on what to expect. An awesome course handicapped by its regulars.
Challenging and rewarding
Course was challenging. I know it’s February in AZ and prices are high. This course is skinny and very hilly and such a. Great challenging course. I will definitely come back but not until later in the spring
Interesting track but not great condition
The adventure begins with limited distance “whiffle balls” on the driving range. Yuck! Then the fairway turf condition is pretty bad. I think doubling the amount of water applied would do wonders. Unfortunately I don’t see that happening. Since it’s not very expensive to play it’s probably pretty good value but not my favorite.
Coyote Lakes
Course was tight in spots but a fair course. Pace of play was average, greens were fair. Fairways were groomed and rolling good. Tee boxes were in good shape.
Best
This was the best round of golf I shot. The course was challenging but not too much, and it was very well kept
Rushed
It was a beautiful course, but we were rushed twice to keep pace with the golfers ahead of us. They really push that everyone must finish in 4 hours. I love golfing and for me it’s a chance to relax. I did not get to relax and enjoy myself here
Worth it.
You won’t have to mortgage the house to play this course for a season..
5 hr pace of play
Fun course, great staff, fast greens. Coyote lakes is worth the money we just got stuck behind some yahoos that backed up the front 9.
Liked the layout
Course was beat up on the front nine but in much better shape on the back nine. Playing from the proper tees makes a difference on this course especially the back nine
Pleasantly surprised and had a great afternoon!
I was visiting the Peoria area and needed to play a round of golf. I spent quite a bit of time on Google searching for a course that was less than $100 and had decent reviews. Coyote Lakes fit the bill, so I booked a tee time, and my afternoon definitely surpassed expectations.
The staff was super friendly, helpful and encouraging from the pro shop to the cart barn. Course was in perfect shape, although I was a little surprised at the greens being pretty slow, but in awesome health! Although this is a suburban desert course the fairways, and the greens are shaped to include plenty of undulations to make every shot interesting, but not to an irritating extent. The carts are equipped with GPS which certainly helped a first time visitor to the course. I also really appreciated the ice cold bottles of water included on the cart - very nice touch!
If I find myself looking for golf in Peoria again, I won't need to Google to tell me where to go, and I look forward to playing the course for a second time.
Slow greens
I always enjoy this course and this day was no exception. My only complaint was the speed of the greens, they were so slow!! They were in great shape and rolled true just uber slow.

4 hours!?!? You understand this isn’t your personal course to leisure through, right? That means you struggle to finish holes in 13 minutes and 20 seconds. That is so rude. Learn to play before you come out in public.
