Grass Clippings at Rolling Hills
About
The executive-length Grass Clippings at Rolling Hills (formerly known as Rolling Hills Golf Course) provides an excellent game and it is a very player-friendly course. True to its name, the course is quite hilly causing a few elevation changes and undulating greens. The fairways are lined with pretty trees, adding some challenge and beauty to the course. There are no water hazards but there are a few strategically placed bunkers to worry about as well as some out-of-bounds stakes bordering a few of the holes. Grass Clippings at Rolling Hills consists of ten par 3s and eight par 4s. On the premises there are also practice facilities, a pro shop, and an on-site golf pro.

Friday Playday
Really enjoyed our round at Grass Clippings. Will definitely golf again. ⛳️👍
Fantastic Executive Course
If you are looking to tighten up your irons or just play a shorter round, this is the place.
The staff is top notch. I played as a single and pro shop were able to move up my tee time. The starter was awesome and easily the most friendly starter I have ever run across.
Play here. You will love it.
Fun community golf, day or night
Better late than never, this facility, when overhauled a few years ago, finally brought night golf to the Valley of the Sun. It is a great hangout as well as a golf spot, as fit for an evening driving range grind session as for a fun meetup with friends around the par-3 course, whose terraced greens provide just enough challenge under the lights.
Lots of changes ??
Not the same, they are working to change it up for learning to golf I think? and have night golf also. Lights and speakers everywhere with music playing and sometimes really loud. Carpet on the Tee boxes probably a good thing as the grass on most tee boxes is completely dug up with divots everywhere as well as a lot of divots on some fairways. Where's those people who can't seem to repair divots. Greens are strange grass ?? Don't think I'll be back.
They're trying
I could tell the owners are trying to make this place newer, fun and trendy, but the course needs some work. Tee boxes are pretty bad and it'll all target shooting, no fairways.
Not the Greatest
We were disappointed in this course. It is a long walk carrying clubs to the bag drop area which is next to the pro shop. No carts allowed in the parking lot. The signs did not match the tee boxes so it was confusing at times. I paid $3.25 for a small cup of coffee. The pace of play was average. This is a desert course so there is a lot of dust involved. They said they are doing some construction but I'm not sure what it would be. We will not be back.
Fun course but a little overpriced
Overall a good fun course to play especially if you want to work on your short game and to get better with irons. The Fairways were kind of okay but the greens were well kept. If you play at night they don’t tell you that most of the Par 4’s will turn to 3’s because of the lighting. The price point was too high overall for what you got out of it $80-$130. I’d say the course should be around $50-$60.
Great day
Course was challenging but fun. All staff were exceptional!
Night golf
We played the night round on a Tuesday, came for the tacos and margaritas special, which does not exist contrary to the newsletter. A food truck was the only food option which didn't accept the grass clippings gift card. I wouldn't play here until construction is completely done. Also, the range is like hitting in a haboob because of how much dirt there is.
Not for experienced golfers
This course is great if no one else is around. Majority of golfers here are hackers who play slow. Management does not seem to care as there is no Marshall and they have no problem sending out fivesomes, there was a group of ten they sent out in two groups of five ahead of us and they were all hacks and no Marshall to keep them on pace, however if you suck at golf, or love to play slow, this is the course for you.
Marshall started blabbing about pace of play on the first hole...we definitely weren't holding anyone up. This set a bad tone for the day.
I love this course
Probably the best executive course in the area. They're doing a great job and I've grown to love playing there.
