About
The executive-length Grass Clippings at Rolling Hills (formerly known as Rolling Hills Golf Course) provides an excellent game and it is a very player-friendly course. True to its name, the course is quite hilly causing a few elevation changes and undulating greens. The fairways are lined with pretty trees, adding some challenge and beauty to the course. There are no water hazards but there are a few strategically placed bunkers to worry about as well as some out-of-bounds stakes bordering a few of the holes. Grass Clippings at Rolling Hills consists of ten par 3s and eight par 4s. On the premises there are also practice facilities, a pro shop, and an on-site golf pro.

Fun course but a little overpriced
Overall a good fun course to play especially if you want to work on your short game and to get better with irons. The Fairways were kind of okay but the greens were well kept. If you play at night they don’t tell you that most of the Par 4’s will turn to 3’s because of the lighting. The price point was too high overall for what you got out of it $80-$130. I’d say the course should be around $50-$60.

Course was challenging but fun. All staff were exceptional!
Night golf
We played the night round on a Tuesday, came for the tacos and margaritas special, which does not exist contrary to the newsletter. A food truck was the only food option which didn't accept the grass clippings gift card. I wouldn't play here until construction is completely done. Also, the range is like hitting in a haboob because of how much dirt there is.
Not for experienced golfers
This course is great if no one else is around. Majority of golfers here are hackers who play slow. Management does not seem to care as there is no Marshall and they have no problem sending out fivesomes, there was a group of ten they sent out in two groups of five ahead of us and they were all hacks and no Marshall to keep them on pace, however if you suck at golf, or love to play slow, this is the course for you.
Marshall started blabbing about pace of play on the first hole...we definitely weren't holding anyone up. This set a bad tone for the day.
I love this course
Probably the best executive course in the area. They're doing a great job and I've grown to love playing there.
Keeps getting better
The course conditions were perfect. Greens and fairways were on- point! New off course amenities are still under construction. Driving range and practice greens are fully available; it just keeps getting better
Wayyyyyy Overpriced
It was not clear that it turns into a par 3 course at night.
You must hit off of turf tee boxes
Pace of play was slow but at least that was expected.
Active construction site
I played this course often on for more than 30 years. In fact, we hosted a bachelor party golf tournament there will before I get married
The green boxes are in fine shape. Everything else about the courses torn up due to construction. Everything around the shop that is under construction and there’s no indication of that when you book your teetimes The pictures and all of the advertisements on their website are not accurate for the current condition. The photos of the people gathering at a party type of atmosphere are stock photos, and are not what this course currently looks like. I’m super excited to see the post renovation, but there should be a disclaimer that these photos are what the future will look like.
Used to be a great muni
Sad that more muni’s are going away. It’s essentially the same golf course, just with flashy marketing, blasting country music, and double the price. Who wanted this ?
Please for god sakes, leave the Ken McDonald course as it is.
Overpriced and not in great condition
This is literally the same Rolling Hills course, but with lights during the evening. It’s way over priced and the course is in bad shape. I would have assumed they would at least take care of the actual course

Great time playing at night. Definitely a must! Great staff very nice and accommodating! Had a awesome time. Course is in great shape.

Couldn't agree more. Course is less challenging and amenities are drowned out by loud music. Sad but true.
