Grass Clippings at Rolling Hills
About
The executive-length Grass Clippings at Rolling Hills (formerly known as Rolling Hills Golf Course) provides an excellent game and it is a very player-friendly course. True to its name, the course is quite hilly causing a few elevation changes and undulating greens. The fairways are lined with pretty trees, adding some challenge and beauty to the course. There are no water hazards but there are a few strategically placed bunkers to worry about as well as some out-of-bounds stakes bordering a few of the holes. Grass Clippings at Rolling Hills consists of ten par 3s and eight par 4s. On the premises there are also practice facilities, a pro shop, and an on-site golf pro.

Better Before
We have played this course numerous times in the past few years. Now with new owners, press releases, increased prices and a newer "hip" vibe, we were somewhat disappointed. The Course conditions were not as good as in the past and a few holes had been "improved". However, the improvements were a bit (again) of a letdown. The good would be the staff and the ability to play at night. What is shocking is that this course was commanding some premier pricing ($90+) and apparently getting it. For us, this would be the last time we play there as there are better courses and better rates available spread out over the valley.
Recent round
It would be nice if they would give some relief for disabled golfers.
This is a par 59 course. They are working on improving the grass but have a ways to go. The greens are in good shape.
I could not find it on the website but there is a practice range at the course.
All hype
Just hype. Course not any better than before. Actually, the front nine was way better with the old design with par4s. Actually have mats to hit off of on several par threes. Are u kidding me! Only minimal amount of facility even has grass. Way over priced! Go play anywhere but this course.
Not worth the price
Too expensive! Played here a couple of times prior to the takeover and considered it good value for money but not right now. Greens were nice but the rest of the holes are dirt. Beware, it turns into par 3 at night so no par 4's at all. Impossible to find a nice space on the tee box to tee off- the ground was hard so only take short tees if you have them. Overall, it seemed that I paid 3 times the price on Sunday afternoon sunset for a softer golf cart seat.
Short but difficult course
Mostly par 3. but difficult course that will let you use every club in your bag.
Cancellation
This place is a joke. Booked 14 days in advance to try and get a chance to play golf at night and they cancelled 30 minutes before our tee time due to an event then told us they wouldn’t be able to do anything or get us in any other day of our five remaining days. Place is a joke.
Target golf
Course under construction. Target golf but the greens were challenging which was good. Course in fairly good condition.
Still in transition
Course is being update but staff does it's best to accommodate. Tee off on mats. Would go back for sure.
A good place to practice
I had not played this course since it was re-opened. The conditions were very good. The greens were good and the fairways were very nice. They also let you have your own cart as a single, which other courses in Arizona don't seem to do. I played in the day, so there are some par 4's mixed in. You can use all your clubs. (At night, they use different tees and it's all par 3's.) I think it was just right to spend a round practicing your irons and short game. The par 3s are all different lengths, from 100 to 200. The longest par 4 was about 310.
