Need A Ranger
We got sent out after a group that was interminably slow, and there was no Ranger to push them along. Took 2 hrs and 45 minutes to play 9 holes. Thank God two of them dropped out after nine and we were able to play the back nine in 2:00...
seen better days
A once great course has seen better days, it’s obvious there is little to no money coming into this course from the city. It’s too bad as this course has potential to be so much better!
relaxing
I'm not much of a golfer, I'll admit. But, I went to this course with my dad, who is. It was a really nice course. We had a great time, it was relaxing and I would return.
Don’t normally review but.....
Well don’t normally review courses but I think I need to say this ...course was great fairways are are awesome right now and greens have been punched . Greens were rolling good . So when my friend and I got there ...the starter on del Urich was very very rude ....also it was just my buddy and I and he was gonna put us behind a foursome that supposedly had a different tee time ....he made it seems as if tee times didn’t mean anything ...so we asked for a score card and said I’m not your servant you can’t get it yourself ...I work in customer service if I had said that to a customer I would’ve been fired on the spot ...the course is great but I guess the people may not be ..it’s not gonna keep me away but I had to say this in hopes that no one else is treated this way
Nice, challenging but pace was bad
I have always enjoyed this course, it has challenges, well kept fairways and greens. Bunkers could use attention. The pace of play was a killer. Double stacked by hole 4. They cram you in to catch the exiting winter visitors. Paid for hot deal on Tee off to not pay the 62.00.
Quality layout, challenging
Holes all exhibit singular individuality, and punish mistakes in planning strategy for each. Conditions were fair: greens excellent, fairways good, rough barren dormant Bermuda. Bunkers well cared for, challenging designs ranging from high bunker lips to being able to putt out of the bunker (hole #1). Great bargain!
Great public facility and course, our favorite
Played here before and played yesterday, with a 90 minute frost delay, behind 1 hour but this is very unusual. But Marshall helpful with the craziness
Great customer service, great service in food areas. Great course in good shape except a few bunkers have no sand. Very fair for ladies but seem long on 4 of the par 4’s but not as long as Randolph side. Love this course.
Work being done
Workers were mowing throughout round. They acted like we weren’t there and continued to mow in the fairways where we were teeing off, and around greens while we chipped and putted. I love this course, just wish maintenance people would be a little more polite
Very good value
Wide open fairways but with plenty of bunkers and some water. . I didn’t lose any golf balls!!!! We played in under 4 hours on a Sunday afternoon. I will play there again.
Great Muni
We had a 756 tee time and were paired with a friendly local that knew the course. Tweed off early and finished in 3:30 hours. Course maintains well and all the staff were friendly. This is an older course and can be difficult if you don’t play the right tees. Look at back nine before you tee off because it plays to a par 35 which gives extras length to the par fours. Definitely play next time you are in Tucso
Spring tight lies
Over-all in pretty good condition, however a lot of areas need more irrigation and over-seeding to make it better. City courses always have a bottom dollar and they would also have to charge more if improvements were made.. i am just in the area for 2 weeks so this was a last minute decision to play and at $30 on-line rate, not bad. I played with 2 other guys who were fun to play with.
They stack the tee times to close together
The course is great but they stack way too many teetimes together and you’re on the Teebox three foursomes deep at a time waiting it took 2 1/2 hours to play the front nine it’s ridiculous
3.70086 stars
pretty good shape ... traps get ripped up by crew driving mowers/raking carts in and out of them! is it worth doing this??? have everyone rake and place! save the traps!
You get what you pay for
Turf Conditions on the course have never been fantastic, and the green speed and receptiveness does not usually match what is on the practice greens. The Double Green is awkward, and sometimes contributes to the pace of play issues. 2 Driveable Par 4's sharing a green?
Staff is great, pace of play is always slow. It is what it is.
Great Time in the rain
The round was great. There need to be more marshalls out there protecting against slow play. We were a twosome and the foursome ahead of us was very slow and would not let us play through.
FRIENDLY LAYOUT
After all the rain we had it was in decent shape. Fairways are in good condition but greens were a little long and shaggy. Good value for the money. They try to keep things moving but a lot of their clientele are older retirees who move slowly. Round was 4 and half hours. Thats too long for a course less than 6000 yards.
