About
Situated between the Catalina and Rincon Mountains, Forty Niner Country Club runs alongside a wooded riverbed. The golf course features fairways lined with mesquites, giant cottonwoods, eucalyptus trees, and weeping willows. Desert shrubbery also lines the fairways. The course has a traditional layout that sprawls across gently rolling terrain. It's a nice walkable golf course but it's not easy. Rather than distance, this course requires accurate shot placement and careful strategy in order to maneuver the tricky doglegs and subtly elevated greens. The most difficult hole on the course comes early on. The par-4 fifth is an only seemingly narrow hole but the double-tiered green has a dramatic slope right in the center. Forty Niner Country Club finishes with a par 3 that requires a carry over water. If played smartly, it offers a great birdie opportunity.

Bad Day
We were greeted by a very grumpy person working in the golf shop and then had a run in with four teenage boys that were incredibly rude. We were supposed to have played 18 holes and left after 10.
First timer
Forgiving course located in picturesque residential neighborhood. Good conditions and not real busy at our 11:45 tee time. Friendly staff.
A Beautiful Day
The help from the pro shop and Kenny the starter got us off to a good start with the ice water provided outside the clubhouse. The pace was fine, finishing in about 4 hours. The greens were like greased lightning but consistent. A good variety of hole shapes and distances with some water thrown in to keep you on your toes. The fairways are in good shape thanks to a good grounds crew. A very enjoyable day on the course.
Nice course but very slow pace of play
Enjoyed the course, in good shape and I enjoyed the layout. Issue was 20 minutes past tee time before we were allowed to tee off. Most holes we had to wait for two groups in front of us before we could tee off.

Always enjoy this course. Friendly employees and grounds keepers do a wonderful job. Greens are fast and fairways are good conditon
Very nice day for a round of golf
Was late deciding on playing golf and there wern''t many options at other courses. Really don't have a $150/round game but enjoy playing and enjoying the nice weather. Pretty much as expected and per other reviews. Overall it was worth the money and were paired with 2 nice folks so made for an enjoyable day.
Great place to play
We always enjoy playing at 49-er. The staff is very friendly and professional, driving range is good, and the course itself is quite scenic. Fairways weren’t in the greatest shape, but greens were good.
