Situated between the Catalina and Rincon Mountains, Forty Niner Country Club runs alongside a wooded riverbed. The golf course features fairways lined with mesquites, giant cottonwoods, eucalyptus trees, and weeping willows. Desert shrubbery also lines the fairways. The course has a traditional layout that sprawls across gently rolling terrain. It's a nice walkable golf course but it's not easy. Rather than distance, this course requires accurate shot placement and careful strategy in order to maneuver the tricky doglegs and subtly elevated greens. The most difficult hole on the course comes early on. The par-4 fifth is an only seemingly narrow hole but the double-tiered green has a dramatic slope right in the center. Forty Niner Country Club finishes with a par 3 that requires a carry over water. If played smartly, it offers a great birdie opportunity.

Always enjoy this course. Friendly employees and grounds keepers do a wonderful job. Greens are fast and fairways are good conditon
Very nice day for a round of golf
Was late deciding on playing golf and there wern''t many options at other courses. Really don't have a $150/round game but enjoy playing and enjoying the nice weather. Pretty much as expected and per other reviews. Overall it was worth the money and were paired with 2 nice folks so made for an enjoyable day.
Great place to play
We always enjoy playing at 49-er. The staff is very friendly and professional, driving range is good, and the course itself is quite scenic. Fairways weren’t in the greatest shape, but greens were good.

Nice Place to Play
I like this course. Holes are challenging but fair. Course was in good shape and the greens were excellent. Challenging but fun.
Staff, both inside and out, were exceptional.
Would definitely recommend this course.
Good pace
Enjoyed the day. Starter got things off to a good start and it continued from there. Will be back.
Decent but nothing special
It was a decent course to play and in pretty good shape but nothing special. The greens were hard and fast. The course is fairly narrow from the back tees. Narrow fairways and very little rough and then it is dirt or houses. Also, a lot of O.B. that is only lined by stakes which is really difficult to know from the tees. Typically the homes are O.B. but there are stakes before the homes and it is really frustrating to hit shots that should be ok but then creep O.B. for now obvious reason.
