Forty-Niner Country Club

It’s a cheap course, I get it. But the conditions are just horrid. Tee boxes so hard you can’t get a tee in the ground. Bare fairways, scorched greens that are so hard they won’t hold an approach shot. Shame because the course does have a fun and unique layout.

The 49er's is a great golf course. Fun, challenging, very well maintained, and not crowded.

Had a wonderful day on a beautiful course that brought me to my knees. The people are friendly and helpful, especially Kenny. The course is in great shape thanks to the wonderful, friendly groundskeepers. They should be proud of how the course has improved. Thanks to all.

Sun shining, birds singing, Palm trees blowing in the breeze. Does it get any better. My golf sucked but who cares. Nothing more boring than someone else’s golf game. It wasn’t anyone’s fault but my own. That’s golf.

Nice course. Greens and fairways are in great shape

For a 1st timer on the course, it was difficult to determine where to aim. Also, no map or signage of course layout. Maybe it was the season, but turf was limited, and bunkers like concrete.

I took my friend with me who doesn’t play but just wanted to ride. I called the day before to make sure their policy on riders. The gentleman told me as long as it wasn’t busy it would be no charge (which makes no sense, period…but Ok). I went to check in and said I had called yesterday about my friend just riding and that I was told if it wasn’t too busy, there’d be no charge. The man who looked to be in charge said, “Oh no. We’re going to have to charge a rider fee.” We went back and forth just a bit and then someone got his attention and the nice gentleman checking me in motioned to not worry about it. Then, the bartender was overwhelmed when we first went in and there were very few people inside/outside and at the bar area. She was grumpy, not making eye contact and we just brushed it off as maybe she was just not a morning person. Then, we went back at the turn and she was even grumpier. We ordered drinks to go but then saw some yummy fried thing that someone else had ordered and decided we’d sit for a bit since we were suddenly hungry. She got upset that we changed our mind. Told us she’d have to get us a server and put us at a table. I told her we simply changed our mind. Then, she kept being rude with her whole demeanor. The way she handed over the receipt, the way she gave us our drinks. We were just inconveniencing her and so I gave her a $2.00 tip on my $20 bill and wrote “you suck” because I wanted management to know I wasn’t pleased. Then when she brought out our chips she set them down and said, “Is everything ok?” I said, “You were rude and that’s not okay. We simply changed our mind and you didn’t have to react the way you did. Just be nice to customers.” Then the manager came over and was also aggressive in the way he asked “Is there a problem”. I said, “She was rude. I see you’re trying to take up for your staff, which you shouldn’t, but we inconvenienced her by changing our minds and she made it seem like it was just such an ordeal. She needs to change her attitude.” And he said, “Yeah, because you wrote, ‘you suck’, so..”. And I said, “Look, I’ve done her job. I know customers. But you need to know as the manager, that she was rude for no real reason, bottom line.” And he said, “Ok, well enjoy your food and the rest of your day.”, and I told him to do the same. Just poor customer service! He should not be the manager. A total overhaul of that course/grill/facilities is what needs to happen. Get staff who are professional and want to make the experience a pleasurable one.
