Maintenance
Randolph North is usually in good shape, even during the summer. Tee boxes were aerated, as well as the majority of the fairways.
Course will be fine in a month or so but for now it’s pretty beat up.
Typical Muni
Cloudy, windy day, but enjoyable. The dormant bermuda rough is nonexistent. Nothing but hard, dry dirt. Greens rolled fast although several had weeds popping up. Fairways were well conditioned and hard so you got a lot of roll. Staff was friendly which is definitely an improvement for a City of Tucson run course. What's up with the range balls? Don't think I have every seen worse. They must have come from a defunct putt putt course.
Good day in the sun!
Course in good shape. Was not a good day to be above the hole. Greens were in good shape, but have never seen them so fast. Greenskeeper woke up on wrong side of bed. Tough pin placements. Example: on one hole, I was 6 feet above the hole with a left to right 2 foot break. just touched the ball to get it rolling. missed hole by 1 inch. Ball did not stop rolling until it was 15 feet below the hole. Was not only 3 putt of the day. But it was still a good day to play golf at Randolph
.
Tucson's Randolf North Course
OB Sports runs the Tucson city courses and do a great job. This course is good for working on your long game especially for a higher handicap golfer like myself. Green fees always go up here in the winter,so with this play being $39. still a great value.
Slow play
Seemed to be over booked on tee times and no Marshall’s to pick up the pace of play.
Monthly course
This is my monthly course, I play North or South at least once or twice a month. Course is in good shape, well maintained and fun for all level of golfers. They recently upgraded the golf carts, fully electrical, comfortable and now have USB ports.
Nice track, for a muni
Randolph North is a really nice course. Some good reachable holes, and a couple that will stretch you out. It gets narrow at times, and was in great shape. Recent rains really greened it up. There are turtles in the ponds, squirrels in the trees, fun little extras. Last 3 times we played here, there has been a tournament of different types. The clubhouse bar has good food and drinks. It's in the center of town, so it's easy to get to. This is the 1st golf course in town. When it opened, it was all sand. Historic, good course. Well worth the trip around the track.
Play
If I pay for a single tee time I don’t expect to be put in a group of 5 and have the people I’m playing with not know how golf works ie. people hitting shots at the same time, walking on the green while I’m trying to shoot to the green.
